IDEs are awful and gay
>>60335340
cool story bro 5/7
I certainly have yet to see the use for one for Python. Vim, with pdb for debugging is more than enough.
>uses a glorified text editor
>calls ides awful and gay
Ur gay
alright I live in student apartments and all the rooms come with a router/modem combo. The wall has two Ethernet ports but no coax or dsl cables. I have two Ethernet cables. How do I make this work?
>>60335333
plug one end into the wall outlet and the other end into your PC's ethernet port.
>>60335348
That's what I figured hut then what the actual fuck is the router/modem for??
>>60335367
routing, modulating, and demodulating.
>intel takes Itanium out back and shoots it
Thank you based AMD for saving us from that hellish nightmare, I will forever be your faithful customer.
https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/05/intels-itanium-cpus-once-a-play-for-64-bit-servers-and-desktops-are-dead/
AMD64 is the true hellish nightmare. Instead of getting pure nice 64 arch we got compromise city.
Thank you Mr Keller for wrecking IA64's shit, we are in your debt.
I-IT'S NOT FAIR, EPIC WAS SUPPOSED TO WIN!
Just got off the phone with an indian support on my work today

Do I have to worry about them deleting my VM now?
your data was shit anyways
they get so impatient after having to hold the phone for 1 hour, I'm actually tearing up right now.
things that happened
Your precious GNU/Linux and non-GNU Linux distributions will never look this aesthetically good by default
Check and Mate, freetards
>>60335239
>Mate
I like that more.
looks like shit
>>60335239
Are we still photoshopping KDE from 97 and pretending that's the new look for Windows?
Its not very convincing.
When does the e ink patent expire? I want to buy a 6.4" 1.42:1 (A5) 1420x1000 resolution £35 Chinese ereader with microsd support...
>>60335200
I think it already expired. But chinks probably need a few months to pump out an ereader.
>>60335200
please stop and up your meds.
>>60335245
But there's the daily programming and Linux general and smartphones headphones mpv...
I've been thinking of getting a Thinkpad because I fucking need myself a laptop, I'm most likely just gonna slap Linux on that bitch and do some Internet browsing, Chatting via Discord, playing low resource indie games and such, and maybe some video editing. I've looked around on Amazon and EBay and theres so many fucking models that I'm not even sure what to get.
Any help here /g/?
>>60335178
why a thinkpad?
X220
>>60335220
Heard their pretty well priced and that they're reliable asf
Is FLAC a meme or does it actually sound better than mp3s at 320kbps? I can't notice a difference between the two playing off a Dell Laptop notebook with AKG K550s with no amp. Would I need an amp to notice a difference or is it my headphones or computer that is causing this? Or is it just my ears?
>>60335156
you wont notice any difference.
flac is nice for achiving.
>>60335156
I can't really hear a difference honestly. It's probably a placebo effect but I think it sounds a tiny bit clearer especially with higher frequencies.
Where there is a difference though is clipping. All the MP3 files I've run across always fucking clip, at least with most FLACs that you get from the artist or CD or whatever have no clipping (unless they were mastered by some shithead because muh loudness).
>>60335156
On my end I can hear the difference easily, even though I have shitty audio equipment. (Just a laptop and headphones.) So it might be your ears, idk.
I have a phone interview for an IT job tomorrow
What should I expect? I've never done this before?
Photo unrelated obviously
If with recruiter: a friendly chat about your current job, what you're looking for, what you have experience with, etc.
If with hiring manager: pretty much the same, but probably more in depth about your technical knowledge. Be prepared to talk about your current job and everything on your resume.
>>60335151
Expect a waste of time. Or you could give us details about what job you even applied for instead of saying something as broad as IT job.
>>60335151
>Photo unrelated obviously
millions of tech-related pics yet you picked some 3dpd dyke's pic in an attempt to catch attention.
fuck off and BTW, you'll fail tomorrow.
It's an Intel Core i7 930, Bloomfield. I'm not sure if I should upgrade.
Depends on what you want to do.
>>60335148
I can run BF4 on a core 2 extreme with a GTX670 on 3 screens so I don't see why you need to upgrade unless whatever you're doing demands greater CPU power.
Probably easier to buy a new video card or SSD (get a pcie) if those make sense and if you still need more CPU power they'll come along for that ride too.
Just go get a Core i5 2500k with a nice motherboard and you'll be fine. Over clock the hell out of it though
>Slide from right to left.
Neither Stallman nor I have a phone.
>>60335100
He has landline iirc, so he has a phone, just not a mobile one.

So fuck Reddit since they are nothing but idiots and I know /g/ does their research, but why can't we all get together and tell nvidia to enable Async in their maxwell cards?
>Inb4 nvidia on suicide watch
>inb4 nvidia cuck
Even you amd fans brag about how competition is good, so why can't we all get together and tell nvidia to enable it in their driver for maxwell?
Go to 35:50 in the video
>>60335029
Bump, I'm curious also.
>>60335029
Because they don't give a flying fuck about you. They want you to buy their shiny new hardware.
>>60335461
They're also willing to suck intel's cock for bread crumbs
Why do smartest and most technical people pick Macs?
I don't want to start holy wars but when I see some highly-technical CS/AI/ML/Math talk on YT, 99% of the time the speaker is using Macs. Is Apple paying all these people to use Macs? If not, why?
Pic related.
Because they look nice in press kits and photographs that will be printed in mass media tabloids that highlight your organization.
You can afford to make your company look good, right?
A 2000 laptop is nothing.
Nice copy pasta mactoddler, but check my banana.
Prove me wrong. I'm running Windows, Linux, MacOS, RISC OS, and TempleOS in a VM. No limitations, I can use each OS to it's own strength. No dumb fanboyism, just pure computing.
>>60334970
Yes but what hypervisor are you using?
>>60334970
Well have fun mining money for the corporations making the proprietary stuff you use then.
>>60334970
you're so superior than everyone, op
im jealous
Alright, so I'm completely new to programming beyond the good ol hello world application.
What is the best language to learn for your first language?
>>60334894
Assembly language
>>60335137
fpbp.
If you want to program anything, you need to use Assembly otherwise you're wasting your time.
>>60334894
Learn C.
