This thread is for the discussion of nyaa.pantsu.cat, a replacement for the late nyaa.se

FAQ
>https://pastebin.com/Gq9MrJN5

>Why is Pantsu down?
Sometimes because it is getting gang-raped by the entire Nip web traffic (10x times more than USA), but this is now rare thanks to migration to another server.
Most likely they are deploying changes, wait for a bit and refresh the page.

News
>Nyaa is live!, work ongoing for sukebei.
>Tracker stats done (but not optimized yet), file list soon-ish.
>user registration works, but email confirmation isn't done yet (you can still login).
>moderation and report system done, but still needs some fixes.
>HS mentioned another site that's being developed by former Nyaa staff and that will be launching soon.

I bet you faggots don't even know what systemd-boot is. Pathetic.

systemd-boot is better than grub, yes.
Although connman > netctl
And ntpd > timedatectl set-ntp true
Granted if your computer is still running BIOS, you pretty much have to use GRUB.

Does it suit your needs?

Do you have the money?

Is there an alternative CRT around you want instead?

>>
No. Lowball hard, and if you do get it, I believe those can be modded to accept an RGB input. I'd keep one to /vr/ and look for a proper HD CRT to use as a TV for a home office/battlestation.

Which is better for a $50 headphone: Mp3 320kbps or Opus 192kpbs?
22 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
>>60337069

Opus is designed to be more efficient at much lower birtates (64 kbps and below)

but higher than 128 kbps the advantage is minimal, and this small advantage won't make a 192 opus sound better than a 320 mp3

I'm about to upgrade a 4 x 2tb raid 5 server. I've heard a lot of flak about raid 5 being dead because if one of the drives dies there is a good chance during rebuild that another of the drives will have a URE and boom goes the array.

WTF? At worse that would cause the (on my current array) 64m chunk to be corrupt but rebuild the rest of array right? Is that the whole fear about raid 5?
42 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
Why don't you have a petabyte server anon?
>>
>>60337017
another drive could easily die during rebuild
>>
>>60337317
What makes you think having one disk fail in an array would increase the odds of another disk totally failing?

What should I do to prefect my ransomware? its full screen and blocking everything from opening. it also copies itself into startup and does the usuall stuff like disabling mouse, disabling antiviruses and firewalls and google and everything and oviousally encrypting all the files and messing up any .exe's. I kinda also want to add a keylogger to this.

How does bruteforcing passwords work?

Wouldn't you need to send a request to the application server to check the result for each attempt to crack the password, and wouldn't this take a very long time?

i.e., how do bruteforce attacks attempt so many combinations in such a short amount of time and verify if the combination is correct without hitting the server millions of times?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Usually you already have the hash if you are considering brute force as a viable option.
>>
>>60336415
>How does bruteforcing passwords work?
basically you run the ever loving fuck out of your computer's CPU and it generates billions of guesses and eventually you get it. Although remember every EXTRA character your password contains takes an exponentially longer time to crack

26 letters + 26 capitals + 10 numbers + a large number of special characters means every character extra multiplies by something ridiculous every time

Why aren't you using Windows XP /g/? It's by far the comfiest Windows OS and it doesn't even spy on you. Do you like your botnet i series cpus and windows 10 spyware?

Just a reminder that this was the last version of windows with an even remotely consistent GUI that looked good.

linux cucks need not apply.

Only Pajeets and failing businesses use XP.

You're not someone worth spying on unless if you are an actual terrorist.

No, but I'm sure your "major brand" RAM, keyboard brand keyboard, unbranded PSU, and unbranded soundcard are all great products and definitely worth spending money on.
