I know there are some good programmers here, let's show off.

Rules: It has to be "useful", meaning it has to be something you created to do something you needed done, and potentially others would want done. It can't be a fizzbuzz.

https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/5/11/15625320/ubuntu-suse-linux-fedora-windows-store-microsoft-build-2017
> Ubuntu, SUSE Linux, and Fedora will all be available to install directly from the Windows Store, making it easy to run Linux apps on any Windows 10 device. The Linux installations will run in a virtualized environment side by side with Windows, with the same command-line utilities available that you’d normally have with a full installation
> Being on the Windows Store also means that the distros will be able to work on the education-focused Windows 10S. This could give Microsoft an extra edge in appealing to computer science and engineering students who may want access to the open-source operating system for developing code.
The ride never ends.

Can anyone recommend me a good third-party firewall solution for Windows 7 x64, that's light on resources?

I wish to be prompted each time an application attempts to establish a connection to the internet, with the options to allow temporarily, allow permanently, deny temporarily and deny permanently.
11 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
You mean for outbound connections right? I don't have a recommendation for you, but windows firewall as you may know cannot be configured to prompt for outbound connections like it does by default for opening ports for inbound connections, so you definitely will need a 3rd party program.
>>
ZoneAlarm ? idk...windows firewall is pretty good at blocking shit you dont want to have blocked and the other way around.
>>
>>60342792
Outbound connection attepts only, aye.

My PC crashed two days ago, been googling and trying everything I can, I usually fix everything on my own but this time I'm lost.

I suspect one of the harddrives malfunctioned when the PC crashed, and the harddrive that crashed had Windows on it, so I basically don't have Windows on my PC anymore if I'm correct. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Halp a /g/rother out with any tips or solutions

I sprayed rubbing alcohol on a towel and rubbed down the top of my laptop to clean it. After the right side of the keyboard was fucked. I've fixed water damaged keyboards befor, so I tore it down to clean it, but it looks like the input matrix is made out of some film that I've never worked with. White spots in the photo is where the alcohol ate away at the film. Is there any way to fix this short of a keyboard replacement?
