Women truly are the stupidest set of beings on earth. They cannot even fathom that time, life and human societies existed before film.
You can tell white women are behind this, it stinks of stooped.
You say you like KDE?
You say you like Gnome?
You say you like a good-looking distro?
Customizable?
Why haven't I heard about this distro before? Why don't people use it?
It's beautiful.

Welcome to the /g/ Hand Me Down Thread!
The purpose of this thread is for the lurkers/posters of /g/ to find a market for their second hand electronics or computer components. Its a well held belief on /g/ that paying for brand new electronics is not worth the price:performance ratio, and because of this I believe that /ghmd/ has a place on /g/.
/ghmd/ follows /fglt/'s example in that it is a friendly environment for requesting items and promoting your own second hand electronics.
As with any new General or maintained thread it's gonna be slow at first, please be patient with them. After a while I'll be able to update the OP with what /g/ believes certain components are worth and eventually make a buyers guide for used components.

what
whats the best first(meaning good and cheap under $700) dslr or slr camera ?
>>60430697
What the hell do you need mechanical mirror for? Even if you are heavy viewfinder user, why not use digital one? You are nigger.
Get any camera in DSC-RX100 series, newer is better and more expensive.
>>60430697
Nikon D3400
https://www.amazon.com/Nikon-D3400-NIKKOR-18-55mm-3-5-5-6G/dp/B01KITZKDE/
Nikon has used the same F-Mount since the 70s so you attach all of their lenses since then (with varying caveats - crop sensor will add optical zoom, no autofocus, no lightmeter readings)
>>60430697
If you're just starting out it's much better to get a high quality fixed lens compact. Entry level DSLRs are crappy, their kit lenses soft and breadth of functionality limited. What makes low end DSLRs cheap is normally their tiny viewfinders - electronic viewfinders are much better than low magnification optical ones.
Get something along the lines of a Fuji X100, Sony RX100 (like >>60431388 suggests) Ricoh GR and so on. These will all fit in jacket pockets, the Sony and Ricoh will fit in your jeans pocket, and they all have equal or better equivalent apertures to APS-C DSLR kit lenses - no point in wasting the extra money just to switch lenses which won't be in your price range anyway.
The cheapest sense making DSLRs are the Canon 80D, Canon 6D, Nikon D3400 used. These actually accomplish the DSLR feature set well, but it's pointless because you're unlikely to use this feature set anyway.

CPUs:

>R5 1500x - generally all you need for 60fps with power to spare. No i5
>R5 1600 - the best value for higher fps gaming & mixed usage; 1600x if you don't want to OC
>i7-7700k - bad value but good; may have heat issues even at stock clocks

>1070 - 1080p@144hz/1440p@100+hz
>1080 - 1080p@120-160+hz maxed; 1440p at lower hz

>READ REVIEWS on retailer page to see if that cheap SSD/PSU/whatever is reliable
>Consider larger SSD-only for what you budget SSD+HDD combined. Add HDD later once needed
>NVMe aren't for faster OS boot. They're primarily for productivity as a scratch disk
>Stop fucking confusing any M.2 drive with NVMe. M.2 is a form factor
>mATX board+case is usually cheaper
>1 SR DIMM is slower than 2 DIMMs
>Good air cooler is generally wiser than an AIO

If my experience is anything to go on, you'd just be wasting your time with other launchers. Nova's the only one that actually let me do everything I wanted
