This thread is for the discussion of nyaa replacements and active web development

FAQ

>Why is Pantsu down/error 502?
Most likely because the team is deploying changes. Wait for a bit and refresh the page. It should be mostly stable now.

Currently, they're migrating DNS which is taking longer than expected, so all we can do is wait.

News
>Nyaa works!
>Sukebei is in the process of being fixed
>Categories and searching works on master
>Filelists are implemented but need to be made hideable and tree view
>People are working on improving search and making it faster.

>New theme will be added.
>Daily db dumps possibly later today/tomorrow.
>Gravatar will be removed and replaced.

Your face looks like a gentoo logo? Also, Gentoo is a GNU/Linux distribution, but its developers don't recognize this; they call it "Gentoo Linux". That means they are treating me and the GNU Project disresepectfully.

More importantly, Gentoo steers the user towards nonfree programs, which is why it is not one of our recognized free distros.

This is the best GNU/Linux distro I have ever used. I highly recommend it. Gentoo thread

Wish I had the time to install it. I'll just use Debian until I do.

After I have it setup, there isn't much to compile, right? Firefox, DE and Kernel are the big three and even they have binary alternatives if I so wish, even though that kind of eliminates the point of installing Gentoo in the first place.
>>
>>60467190
What are the pros and the cons about gentoo?
>>
>>60467216
>After I have it setup, there isn't much to compile, right?
No after you compile X11 and a DE if you wish, it's smooth sailing. If you have a free day then i suggest installing it.

i expect this will be solved quick and easy, i just cant find specific answers on google.

i understand the xbox one cooling system is designed to be able to run 8 years straight without fear of overheating (or so ive read).
but mine seems to run awefully hot.
would placing my laptop cooling fan on top of the xbox vents aid in cooling it?

obviously with there being no vents underneath, that would be fruitless.

and if it would work, would i want the air blowing in or out?

I used to play a lot of games but in the past 1 year I got so bored of them, I want to try something else.
I want to start learning a programming language and I decided to go with Java. I was between that and Python.
Do you have any good books that you would recommend to learn the basics and get me started ?

Thanks, I'll definitely check this tonight.

I saw another website called codecademy that has java courses, any thoughts on that one?
>>
Don't use books
It's very limited
Try udemy
Codecademy
Tutorials point
Youtube boston academy
And trust me there are a lot of pajeeths who teach good in youtube..
Good luck mate!

I'm tired of windows fuckery. What good OSs are there (besides ubuntu) that have a large library of supported games?

Gentoo. GNU/Linux supports a surprising amount of games now because of unity.

Wouldn't that depend on what sector you are applying for?
That said, anything actually useful goes.

What constitutes as useful?

Some more useful questions are:
>what's a side project I have enough interest in to see through to completion?
Also, your interviewer is going to die a little inside if you write another map API humper or to-do list.
