How many hours do you estimate you wasted on Linux when you could have done it faster on OSX or Windows?

Probably 1, trying to use it for the first time and not knowing where anything is

Microcenter -> Laptops
1 AMD laptop model to 221 Intel models. It'll all be over soon. Chromebooks are even more popular than AMD laptops. Desktops at 10 AMDs to 155 Intels, the end is nigh.
>>60516837
What do you mean "end"?
Once people realize once and for all that Intel is simply better, then we can get rid of a shitload of platforms and compatibility issues. Intel won't have to rush releases just to compete with AMD too, instead they can take their time to make sure the product is as good as possible and bug free
better for everybody.

No. It's all shit.

>>60516323
I haven't ever had experience using one and after a quick Google search, it doesn't look like any exist that are worth anything. Unfortunately, we don't have a need to traverse a file system in 3d as its not as efficient. Maybe with AR and vr, but even then I don't see it becoming a thing.
Hey /g/, I need a tablet to read pdf's because I'm tired of trying to deal with that shit on a kindle, and I can't stand reading on my computer for long periods of time. I'm going for something rather cheap, between $100 and $200, no more than that hopefully. What's a good tablet for that? What screen size should I go for?
>>60515850
ipad or gtfo
>>60515850
> What's a good tablet for that?
Any tablet can display PDF. Choose something with a high DPI.
Speaking of tablets, my Galaxy Tab 4 has developed one of those newton rings. Probably going to try the freezer trick to fix it because I can't be arsed to ship it all the way to NJ just to have the screen replaced.

But 90% of /g/ is on board with the systemd-hate-meme, this is a solid distro without systemd.

Hello again /pcbg/,
I'm the guy that asked for help picking parts for a very tight budget PC because my girlfriend destroyed my PC beyond repair.
You've helped me out greatly which I'm very grateful for, I checked the stores around here and had decided what I'll end up building once I get my couple days off from work.
However, as always, luck is not on my side.
The 600-800 euro's (about 785 dollar) I could spend are now down to 400-500 euro's only. (+/- 450-600 dollars) because the car I need for work unexpectedly needed a new timing belt (not sure if it's called like that in English)
Could you please help me out once more and suggest parts for a build I can play WoW and browse internet videos with more or less OK?
I don't need the best settings in WoW just something that wont stutter like crazy.
I need everything, OS // All the parts including case // mouse & keyboard and perhaps a headset I can go on TS and Discord with, a screen is not required I found one on Ebay I could pick up for free (it's a 1920x1080), has scratches and dents and bit worn out colors but it's fine.
It would be much much appreciated.
p.s. - for those wondering, I got my girlfriend to go to psych person appointments, which also have to be paid so it's improtant that I stay within this 450-600 dollar budget
Thanks in advance.
Alright, this question is going to sound fucking retarded but fuck it, I can't find an answer online anywhere so maybe somebody here can help.
Can I get a DMCA notice from my ISP for simply watching a downloaded movie that I'm not currently sharing/seeding?
To clarify: let's say I hypothetically downloaded a movie 16 months ago and removed it from my torrent client almost immediately upon completion. i watched it recently (within the last few weeks) and got a DMCA notification for it today. Did simply watching the MKV file with MPC-HC somehow alert someone that I had downloaded the file, or is it most likely a notice from when I downloaded it 16 months ago?
>>60515440
Use your brain. Using a file on your computer will not bring a DMCA notice.
>>60515467
I know I'm retarded. It just seemed like too much of a coincidence to get a notice on a 16 month old download so soon after I re-watched it.
Any other time I've gotten a notice it was the day after I downloaded something.
no you dumbass. how would anyone know the local files you use unless you have some sort of spyware

Why is Windows 10 the worst version of Windows?
For worst Windows try Vista, Millenium or Windows 95a
>>60515340
Because it looks ugly, it fails to improve upon Windows 7, it fucks up what we know while still relying on a 20+ year old framework, and it has built-in spying features.
>>60515794
How was Vista bad? I'm srs. It was pretty revolutionary for the time. It was OEMs that fucked Vista's reputation, not Microsoft.

I had to refresh the page and forgot to retype the subject, I'm talking about Clevo laptops.
I have a clevo barebone and the quality of the carcass is made of terrible plastic. 5 years owning one and it's breaking itself apart.
Not to mention that the first time I opened it, something fell off.
>>60514870
which model? I heard that the build quality is generally at least acceptable.
