I'm completely new to programming, but somehow I've managed to end up in a situation where I've agreed to make a cross-platform app for a family friend's ice cream truck business.
I've been studying C++ on my own time, but I just wanted to ask here... what kind of stuff should I be studying in particular, to do something like this?
The goal of the app would be to be able to select different varieties of ice cream and then select the denomination you're being paid with to tell you the customer's exact change, and to hold all of the sales information and send it in to the boss man.
Not asking for anyone to write anything for me, so I don't feel like I need to be more specific. I just want to know where I should start, and that sort of thing. Thanks in advance for the help.
If you have to ask, you can't do it.

I don't think you actually read what I posted.
The only time constraint is very loose. I'm confident in my ability to learn this regardless of whether I get help here, I'd just like some pointers for where to start.

Holy fuck. This is the most jewish thing I've seen in awhile. Microsoft is putting advertising into the inbox of Outlook now. You can't even click on it to dismiss. It just sits there. I have uBlock Origin installed too.

I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me. I'm trying a configure a basic TCP server/client connection. It's literally an example I read out of a book. I can get the Server code up and running on my main machine but when I go about connecting the client from my laptop to the server it says that the server is taking too long to respond. Will post pics. I need some help configuring it to work. I'm just trying to sharpen my skills a bit and it's irritating that this example isn't working.
This is the code running on my laptop I can't figure out why it won't connect to the server.
This is the error I get when I run the Client.

This is a thread for old/retro stuff you've found. Start off this thread with a box of stuff I found today.

Two boxes of mini floppies. One unopened, the other I can't seem to open without it emitting some kind of horrendous scraping. Everything seems to be from the early 90's.

How many email addresses does /g/ have?
How do you remember what stuff you have that's associated with an old email that you might regret if you just dumped that email and it gets deleted due to inactivity?
Email 1: Work related
Email 2: Bank accounts
Email 3: Games
Email 4: Online shopping
>>60617254
hime > the rest.
>>60617267
also 3
1 with my real name and used for everything
2. from long ago, only used for facebook
3. cock.li :^)
Email 1: Email with my real name for simple stuff (games, shopping etc).
Email 2: Send/receive complaints or some other stuff that I don't care.
Email 3: Has pretty much the same purpose as Email 1, but I don't want my name to be associated with it.
In a thread a couple of hours ago, some anon mentioned recording data to a cassette tape using a recorder, line in on a PC, and FLDIGI.
How would I go about doing this? Is there a better program? Do I need type 2 chrome tapes or will regular metal oxide be good enough?
Pic somewhat related.

Any good/decent Stream Boxes out there for the money?
Recommend me a few /g/entlemen.
Raspberry Pi 3
>>60616023
Or, download. Just as illegal as streaming, without the need to hope your chosen stream doesn't die in the middle of whatever, and you don't have to keep up on all the new plugins.
>>60616358
Could get one but... want something ready out of the box anon.
Hi!
I have a question for You....
Is it worth it to pay more for Galaxy S8 over 2017 A5?
2017 A5 looks like a good phone...
S8 of course is the best one... But is it worth it to overpay? Is it really that much better?
They are both extremely fragile phones. Would recommend against.
>>60616005
I'm always wearing a case for my phones, so this is not an issue in my opinion.
I have now Zuk Z2, which is glass from both sides too and it is still one pice ;)
Wait for the note
