CPUs:
>G4560/4600 - budget builds (<$500) unless G4620/i3-7100 is heavily discounted
>R5 1500x - generally all you need for 60fps with power to spare. No i5
>R5 1600 - best value for higher fps gaming & mixed usage; 1600x if you too lazy to OC
>i7-7700k - bad value but good for higher FPS; may have heat issues
>R7/Xeon - compute/Multitask/mixed use
>Threadripper/i9 soon

Graphics:
>G4560 iGPU is fine for desktop stuff and very light game
>1050/Ti for low budget. Drop settings if not Freesync/Gsync on newer games; RX560 if discounted
>RX570 4GB - 1080p@60+hz, running most maxed; older games at 144+hz
>RX580 8GB - 1440p@60+hz, inject SMAA & drop settings for some games

I'm trying to get into IT because marketing/sales is fucking terrible and I can't get into it.

I'm done with my A+ 220-901 exam and expected to take my 902 around Labor Day.

My question is, how fucked am I getting into IT without any experience other than fixing people's computers in high school?

Am I destined to be stuck in marketing/sales for forever?

Wait, so did Nvidia next fix the issue that Keplar, Pascal, and other archs have when VRAM starved?
AMD GPUs don't have nearly this problem. A 3GB 7970 runs far better in a game that uses 4GB of VRAM than the 3.5GB 970 does despite being a little more than half as powerful.

I thought after the lawsuit over the 3.5GB that they updated their memory controller to behave more like GCN did when VRAM starved.
Did they not?
What's the point in getting an Nvidia card if you are forced to upgrade when you want to play a game that uses more VRAM, whereas AMD cards keep working fine?
