Can one of you explain to me why anyone would choose a Linux Distro OS as a primary OS over OSX or Windows.
I mean unless you're a software developer or you're paranoid Win or Apple are spying on you I can't understand the appeal behind it.
Inb4 bait, not bait, I really want to know what advantages any Linux distros (aside from distros designed soley for purposes like pen-testing etc) over Windows or Mac...

Thoughts on VeraCrypt? I'm looking into different encryption tools to use, but since BitLocker has a backdoor there's nothing else to use that I can find. I've heard that it runs really slowly. Also I'm running a dual-boot of Windows & Linux if that makes any difference.

Will this work on Existing files? So if I have my 2nd hard drive, and I encrypt it using dm-crypt in Linux, will I be entering the password for it when I want to access it on Windows? I read somewhere that it's not possible to encrypt existing files with this, that's why I ask.

Am I dumb for wanting to use this as my daily driver phone? Using it now. It's comfy. Only downsides are that I can't get wifi tethering or my openvpn to work on it. The processor is kinda slow but it's tolerable. For texts emails calls and browsing it's serving me very well. Got it for $75.

1600X is $30 more expensive and doesn't come with a cooler. If you feel like OCing and playing the silicon lottery, 1600 is a better option. 1600X is a safer bet.
