Hello /g/entlemen, I am looking for a fully functional mini PC for my TV to replace my Chromecast. I looked at Android TV boxes but I don't think they are quite what I was looking for. I plan on installing Ubuntu and then using it for streaming shows inline as well as various other tasks. Any recommendations in particular?
>>60633551
Cheapest ones are x5-z8300 with 2 GB RAM. From there you can move up to Y series CPUs but expect to pay a lot more.
Odroid C2. Hardkernel provides custom Ubuntu images

Ridden with malware and spyware I presume.
Hey /g/ should I convert my m4a files to mp3? On Android I'm not sure if I reap the full benefits of m4a.
Pls don't judge my songs
how can someone not judge your songs?

that song was absolutely only popular because of the remix contest

One trick they don't teach you in school is that after you convert to a format and back, you retain the previous optimizations. About five cycles is the sweet spot.

Hi there,
I'm tired of being a neet playing videogames and doing nothing all day, so i've figured i might as well put all this free time for something useful.
I want to learn about computer technology, coding, operating systems, anything IT in general i guess. The problem is, I don't know where to start learning about these topics, without having to go to school. Keep in mind, i know as much as an 70 year old woman about these things, so i want to start with the basics.
How did you guys gain the knowledge you have about technology?
What are the best websites/books on how to learn about these things?

Look up Derek Banas tutorials on youtube. Start with C/C++ and move to Java. He explains fast so remember to pause at will and even google out what the lines do. Take notes on paper (yes, on fucking paper!).
Thats it. Best advice you ever got.
start by learning C++
Best way to learn
Is it the best operating system?

That isn't mac os x. That is some weird gnu/linux distro which is themed after mac os x snow leopard but has huge eyesores sticking out.
I made some ryzen cpu bottleneck updated tests since most top popularity videos are showing it as it was 3 months ago

Incredibly detailed test stupid frog
had a dream about it being essentially the end of the world and had to pack tech to last for a few years in a bunker
got me thinking, what would you guys pack with you if you had to stock up for a hurricane or for living in a bunker for a few years?
-Laptop
-Hdds for backup
-Accessories (cables, mouse, adapters ecc..)
-smartphone
-buy a momentum - mini generator and/with a battery, for powering them
>>60632235
You say it was all a dream, but i do not remember going to sleep yet.
>a decent radio
>laptop with HDDs full of important survival guides/books/tips
>some kind of generator
>microwave, I dunno if it counts as technology
I'd also bring my cellphone but I assume it would be mostly useless. I also doubt i'd move to a bunker, I'd just go to my family's farm in the middle of no where on the prairies in Canada. I dont think there's even risk from potential nuclear fallout, its like 1000km from any major city, has tons of guns and ammo and I'm pretty sure you could live off the land indefinitely there. Plus its miles from any other people, you wouldnt see too many visitors and you can see people driving down the one road from like 40km away (its on a very large hill/side of a valley)
Have any of you guys taken this?
What are your thoughts on it?

>apple found new way for earning more money from retarded people
>>60631976
I guess you could put it on your CV if you really needed to fill it out.
Waste of fucking money. I found a vendor that pays you to be trained for an AppleCare advisor. It's basic shit though. You're taught a few procedures, then taught how to look up articles so there's as little thought as possible. I went from tier 1 iOS to a senior advisor in less than a year.
To pay to get this training seems like a classic Apple move. Pay us so you can make us money.

This. They have no idea what any of it means, just that .com is the "default" and maybe whatever your country's government's TLD is.
