$10 paypal bux to whoever can sort this:
i recently bought a korean s5 (sm-g906k) off of ebay in hope of rooting & flashing cuztom shit on it, but there's no OEM unlock option in developer options.
towelroot also hangs if i try to root it with a modstring.
am i scrooged, or is there some other exploit?
Download minmal afb and fastboot, connect phone to pc , boot to fastboot, type "fatboot oem unlock", oem is unlocked, now flash twrp from fastboot, for ur particular device from any dev website, instructions are always provided there, then flash supersu.zip from Twrp. Done
Forgot, for samsung theres a software called odin which can be used to unlock oem and u can use kingoroot to root it
OP here, thanks for the replies
>>60688921
i don't think samsung devices support fastboot

odin does not detect my phone if i connect it in download mode. my drivers are correctly set up.

>Qualcomm is trying to shill their ARM boards to Microsoft, Snapdragon 835
>Asus, HP, and Lenovo are all planning to introduce Snapdragon Mobile PC systems at some unspecified time in the future, for some unspecified price.
>It may be a chance to have another go at Windows RT, that got properly fucked for not having true ability to run x86 programs, with a Windows 10 for ARM package
>The prototype board from Qualcoom is an area of 50.4cm^2, has snapdragon 835 processor and Gigabit LTE
>Thanks to Qualcomm's battery management, and Windows 10 feature of Connected Standby capability, estimated battery savings could be up to 50% than x86 systems,
>>60688784
>estimated battery savings could be up to 50%
By being more off?
>>60688784
i hate it that they probably signed something so only qualcomm can make these windows 10 boards
mediatek, samsung, allwinner and broadcomm could have made some nice boards too and i bet laptops with their socs would be way cheaper
Anything that gives intel more competition is good. The most expensive Snapdragon is cheaper than the worst celeron/atom.
I was thinking of buying one of those 27" 5K Ultrafine's from LG. My Titan XP can handle 4K just fine but 5K is a different matter. Benchmarks show Titan XP in SLI barely hitting 50 frames per second on some games like The Division. As newer games are released the FPS will only get lower.
Is it possible to set the resolution and scaling in a way that I can play games in 4K on a 5K monitor in fullscreen? I know that changing in-game resolution makes the entire game fuzzy and blurry, but I heard there was a better way to do it.

My post is the /g/ equivalent of jaywalking anon.
>>60688755
Apple devices are the only ones that will pass two display port 1.4 signals over a single thunderbolt 3 (usb type-c) cable to utilize the 5k resolution.
Any other device will max out at 4k. I'm pretty sure there are 4k monitors for cheaper out there. No point in getting this unless you have a macbook or money to blow on gook shit.

Does anybody on /g/ actually uses this shit? Is it a scam or the next level of currency?
>>60688718
only autistic kids use it
>>60688718
I use it. First of all, it's price goes by supply and demand or to put it another way, it's a series of pump and dumps. If the stock-market is a scam then so is Bitcoin so you'll have to judge that question yourself.
As for a next-level currency, it's not. It really isn't. It's more like digital gold now. Bitcoin got a temporary 1MB block size limit as a anti-spam measure years ago and this was never lifted. All the bitcoin blocks have been full for quite some time and the price of a bitcoin transaction depends on the amount of bytes it takes. Put simply: It will currently cost you anything from $5 to $15 to make a Bitcoin payment. This really does rule it out as a payment system. It's no longer a functioning currency.

Trying to decide between Debian and Fedora, leaning towards Debian at the moment. What's your preference for server OS?

We used to have more video playback generals, and users sharing MPC-HC / MPV setups and the like. Talk anything you want about video playback here.
I've been interested in SVP (https://www.svp-team.com/wiki/Main_Page) lately, but have grown accustomed to the great fidelity, features, and lightweight install of MPV, so I don't want to swap back to MPC-HC, where to get equivalent quality would require some codec pack and/or MadVR, (and now SVP), etc.
Apparently MPV and SVP are compatible, but must be compiled into the binary, and doesn't work as an additional file just sitting in the .exe's directory, like youtube-dl, etc. Haven't also been bothered to get the MPV source and SVP source, set up the environment, and compile it just to get that set up.
Anyone use SVP already? Do you like it? Experiences with it and how it adds or changes the quality of stuff you watch, etc.
My favorite two setups (one OR the other) is either MPC from the K lite Codec package setup or Zoom player with with the install center conveniently installing everything I need or an missing.
I have primarily used MPC alone for the last couple years mainly I suppose because the setup and configuration is so simple and quick. A bit less effort to get it tweaked to my liking.
I haven't used SVP (haven't even heard of it). I will probably check it out just to experiment. I'm usually perfectly absolutely fin with MPC though so no need changing.
