Uncontrolled shutdown = Ram xplodes.

>Feds bang on door
>Cut power
>Hide laptop
>They burst in
>Can't find laptop immediately
>When they find it 3-5 minutes later, cold boot attack no longer viable
Clear memory on shutdown.

>Want to create a topic specific forum with accounts, and such.
Forums are dead. Nobody uses them, even the paid posting services ( as in you pay people to post on your shitty forum ) are all dead.
I was interested of state of Ruby these days considering everyone seems to be going full-on JS.
No wonder, Ruby community seems to be full of disgusting fag-enablers. 8th post of Ruby subreddit is about enabling homosexuals. Not about coding, not hacks, no questions.
A homo symbol. That's Ruby now.

But it's downvoted.

Can we have a printer thread?
What kind of printers does /g/ have?
I'm looking for a grayscale laser printer/scanner combo that works with linux.
>>60740517
Well I have this one.
I just reinstalled the drivers since I switched my router
It works flawlessly.
I laughed when I saw linux drivers were litterally a few kilobytes, and windows required the use of a 200 Mb software suite

You mean Brother DCP-L2520DW? Neat. Picked this image randomly.
Why are we still using MP3s and not replacing them with .opus?
-good quality
-virtually supported on any browser, voip application, phone, audio player
-free and open source
-doesn't take enormous disk space and would be a very good option for keeping alive tons of music torrents with little traffic and disk space
>>60740024
because we have flac and sd cards are cheap
>>60740041
>50mb file for 6 minutes song
really?
Only player that supports it on Android is VLC.
Oddysey also plays it but has no library support for it.
Microsoft is selling windows transparency like they are reinventing the wheel
am I missing something here?
looks fucking horrible
>>60739769
Are we going back to Windows Aero?

British politicians and civil servants love to censorship stuff: http://www.melonfarmers.co.uk/bw.htm
The two biggest parties are for it. The BBC/The Guardian-sponsored party do it name of social justice, and the current ruling party do it in name of protecting the children.
Why use this when word exists? It is literally trash. Doesnt even have a good user interface

What if i want to use the wires for some hobby project and are too cheap to buy a roll of wire?

You're on the wrong board then
Is threadripper /our cpu/?
AMD is finally bringing competition to Intel on all counts, including their server cpus.
Intel xeons won't be able to compete against price to performance along with the 64 PCIE lanes
>>60734642
Its definitely industry changing.
i hope to see cloud servers / vps get a shit load cheaper for core count. companies should (possible) be able to offer 2 or 3 times as many cores for the same with ebyc
Infinity Fabric changed the game
Home screen thread r8
I stopped tryingto makemy phone look "cool" when I was 17.

Is there even a DE that can compete with GNOME?
>>60730619
Any of them that offer Font Settings
At being the worst?
No.
No and never.
what language should I work on over the summer? took an intro to programming class this year where I learned some java. I understand logic and I have a fairly strong math background so what should I work on teaching myself before I go off to uni?
>>60729289
Bump, I'm actually curious and was expecting replies.
Nodejs
Python (django/flask)
Java (Spring)
Angularjs (1 & 2)
Reactjs
That's everything employers want. But you're going off to Uni so the most relevant languages you will work with in college are C, C++, Python, and probably a little JavaScript here and there.
>>60729423
is that in most cs programs?
I'm interested in technology in general and would like to learn but I'm also poor and don't want to waste my time if what I learn will be irrelevant in the job market.
I understand that after you learn a few languages it gets easier to learn others but do places like TIs have better career oriented programs or am I fucked either way?
Old thread is almost dead, RIP.
Rate, hate, and appreciate.
>intentionally using shitty technology to look aesthetic
