lel what part are you touching?
If the case shocks you you need to buy a new computer. Otherwise dont touch the board while it is running numbknuts

FIRST FOR YEAR OF THE AMD DESKTOP
WHAT MOUSE TO BUY /GEE/
I NEED A NEW ONE
My trusty mx310 is finally starting to shit the bed after 10 long years of abuse. What's a good mouse to get that has a great sensor and build quality? I don't want anything with those rubberized coatings.
If there's a recent infographic I'll use that for reference as well
So I haven't built a new PC in like almost 7 years at this point. Do I wait out the i9-7800X and VEGA to see how benchmarks are or should I go with a R7 1700 & 1080/ti now?
Does AMD have any plans to release a enthusiast GPU to contend with Nvidia's flagship offerings, or have they now settled for that lucrative middle 50% of the discrete graphics market and are forever out of the top-end graphics tussle?
>>60890379
No they'll release a prosumer product that might game better than a quaddro, and might do better than the gtx series at non gaming workloads. But won't beat a quaddro at non gaming, and won't beat a 1080ti at gaming. AMDfags will eat it up even though it won't be the best choice for anything at it's price range.

Sorry fuckers I've looked everywhere and my mind is blown abut this fucking A/V receiver I have. I know you're not my personal tech support but y'all are smarter than any fucks on regular forums
I have this A/V reciever which only plays music that's supposed to be in the background on all four speakers (no center channel right now.) it only works in EXT STEREO which puts the front channel the same as the rear and doesn't actually do surround, which is the whole point of having a 5.1 system. The source is HDMI and definitely should be proper dolby DTS but it just isn't recognized in any of the settings, whether its dir. HDMI, auto surround, or HDMI.
>>60890113
I have that problem with my yamaha receiver sometimes. I don't know what the button is that fixes it but it's whatever button that changes the audio mode to "straight"
>>60890139
that would be the direct HDMI which doesnt seem to be fixing the problem
>>60890184
have you tried plugging one of the other speakers into the center channel to see if anything is going to that one?
Can /g/ build a PC that can run 4k 60fps vidya, play 4k blurays, and come in an equal or smaller form factor?
G4560 + RX 580 8GB OC + Evga PSU + cheap mobo + cheap ddr3/ddr4 ram + cheap HDD
Ez

P.S: Not sure about the 4k bluray drive, need to check.

Why the fuck are the RX 400/500 (especially) getting so damn pricey?
I wanted to build a budget R5 budget build but now I am fucked.
Can someone explain please?

AMA
>>60889758
Why do you use Mint? It's just Ubuntu but with a bunch of malware packages installed.
You realize that Ubuntu and even Debian provide Cinnamon and MATE so you no longer require Mint right?
>>60889794
I'm using it until debian 9 is released. I used to use it in my newbie days and thought it'd be fun to fuck around with it for the next 5 days.
>>60889794
OP is not even using Cinnamon and MATE, he is going full auitismo

Why is Google making the captchas longer and longer? Does 4chan's owner get paid for our extra labor?

Newfag detected. Use legacy captcha like always.
You're using the brainlet captcha. Intellectually superiors such as myself get a special captcha that can be solved in less than a second.
Hey /g/, can we go create our own blockchain platform?

Journofag here,
What would be an ideal hardware/software setup for reporting from a country where the Internet is heavily monitored and restricted?
My requirements are storing and sending raw/jpeg image files, text/audio files from interviews, and occasional video to an editor's server as well as uploading them to marketplaces for sale. A way to browse uncensored internet resources for on-the-go research would be useful. I was considering going full Stallman with an old Thinkpad (not sure which OS to use, but a smaller computer would be appreciated).
Do you have guidelines for secure communications with sources if you want to avoid burning them? Is the TOR browser still dependable?
>Journofag here
