I want to create a lightweight service that basically does an API call every certain interval and it displays the info fetched on the screen. The endpoint for the API call should be fetched from a file that one would be able to configure. Installation of this service should be as simple as possible because it might be technologically impaired people who'll try to install and run it.
What tools would /g/ recommend for such a thing?
I was thinking that this could be possible even with plain HTML/CSS/JS but I want to listen to alternatives
...Anyone?

If you have a strong opinion on free software and you're on the spectrum, you're being irresponsible.
If you're retarded, any opinion you have is more likely to be ill-informed than that of someone with no mental issues. If you have some form of autism, or you want to be a girl, you are retarded. Any advocacy you do based on your opinions is therefor based on something likely to be wrong.
If you read this and continue to denounce the "evils" of proprietary software, you're knowingly doing something harmful.
Sorry, but that's how it is.
>>60726171
>If you have a strong opinion on free software
Check
>on the spectrum

Dunno but maybe
>you want to be a girl
Check

>If you read this and continue to denounce the "evils" of proprietary software, you're knowingly doing something harmful.
I will continue to anyway, fuck you.
>Sorry, but that's how it is.
You're not sorry reee.
>>60726863
>You're not sorry
I've wanted to be an outspoken free software advocate myself, but I recently came to the realization in the OP and now I'm not so sure.

Should I keep Windows or just replace it?, Will my PC run shitter with 2 OS's?, Can I delete on or the other afterwards?
>>60725705
do wahtever you want, man. the only thing that happens if you keep both is that youll have to split your harddrive into two virtual ones.
>>60725705
>Will my PC run shitter with 2 OS's?
If you honestly don't know the answer to this question you have no business installing linux, even babby edition linux

Are there ARM netbooks/laptops yet that easily run Linux?
Idk
>>60724802
Toshiba AC100. It's slow and dated as are all netbooks, should run a lightweight distribution just fine though.
ARM Chromebooks can run Linux fine, you just need to pack the kernel in a retarded format so the bootloader can understand it
How will this affect them? Will people allow Google to cuck them and pay to visit websites or will they switch to another browser? Could it go the other way that websites start blocking user agents other than Chrome so that people are forced to either view ads or pay for access?
>The company told CNBC that it will allow publishers to participate in a new program called Funding Choices. Under the program, when a user with a third-party ad blocker enabled visits a participating site using Chrome, they will see a prompt that asks them to either turn off their ad blocker, or "pay for a pass that removes all ads on that site through the new Google Contributor." If they choose to pay the fee, Google will take a 10 percent cut. If they select neither choice, they won't be able to view the website.
>To see the prompts, users must sign up to participate in the Google Contributor program, and must be signed in to Chrome. If they're not signed up and have an ad-blocker turned on, they won't be able to view the site.

Don't be a retard.. FF is and always was the only alternative.
We whites should get more educated and take those jobs which jews have occupied!
So my Motorola wasn't booting and I had to unlock the bootloader and flash it to make it work again. Now everytime it boots up it warns me that it's unlocked. Is this something I have to be concerned about?
You can modify and flash the various images for that kind of thing, like boot image, battery charging image and what not.
When you unlock it the boot one gets replaced with that thing.
Nothing to worry about other than warranty being void since you live in a third world country.
>>60724604
Yeah you should just get the latest iPhone instead.
>>60724604
>Is this something I have to be concerned about?
No
You can relock the bootloader again if it annoys you too much
hey guys remember me?

Pleb shit. I had a walkman, and then a minidisc player.
So I was using my Xperia Z1 compact for 3 years but now it seems like the battery is dying.
I need a phone and as I was satisfied with my Xperia I want to buy one now. Question is which one? XA1 , XZ, Z5 ?
I use the phone for browsing, google maps, viber. I guess the phones I mentioned are just as waterproof as my Z1c.
Thanks in advance /g/

OnePlusOne 3T
I'm not going to say it's the best, but I'm happy with my s8 so far. Good battery life with highly customizable power optimization settings, and it's water proof. Has a removable sd slot (kinda, its in the same spot as the sim card which is pretty dumb). The camera is also quite good.
The only negative I can think of is that the back glass plate is probably pretty thin/flimsy, and I wish they'd just use plastic, but I have it in an otter box which will probably prevent it from shattering if I drop it
Thoughts on Lua for web?
>>60724163
go fuck yourself you fat cunt cut your hair
>>60724163
Openresty is pretty cool.
Lua needs nice package management built in before anyone will use it. Crystal will likely be a better alternative though

poor unicode support is killing it

Sorry, i know this isnt tech support but im quite lost.

sorry, not an option :(
What about those cheap ereaders? Why do some have retarded 1024x758 displays? That's not a typo, it's 758.
Is there any reason not to just get a cheap tablet and load ebooks on It? Those e-ink screens are nice, but if you have no problem reading off a regular screen I don't see why you'd pay more for less
What's the current pick of ereaders? All I want is something reasonably large, sharp, and capable of loading files from an sd card. I will not be using ebook stores, wifi, or anything like that.
