i agree with you, but this is a strategy to appeal to people who want to feel different -> also known as everyone. Yes, those over 20 years of age would find it dumb, but eve probably targets younger people anyway

Why change a marketing strategy that works?

What is some /g/ recommended way of backing up shit? I would prefer to use some cloud service but I've heard some of the services can shut down your account just for storing porn.
I need a place to store all my porn, webm's and other shit I get from the internet. Storing pirated games that's hard to get is a thing that is nice too. Now I know I can easily use a small usb for the 4chan shit and porn and a larger harddrive for movies but should I? After losing most of my shit I have considered onedrives 1 TB and then storing my shit in onedrive/PC's/DesktopGaming/Documents etc to always have it in sync. Needing to move around an harddrive is propably a stupid Idea if I forget to insert it. I have multiple PC's.
I've considered MEGA drive since I've heard they take shit seriously, can you store movies there without getting into trouble?
>>60742198
just buy a NAS with RAID >>60739407
backup important shit to external HDD and Nextcloud on a VPS
I use Drive because the botnet wants my data.
Google has given me 400GB of free drive space so I've put all of my work, music and some porn there. I've had the files up for 2 years now with no problems.
Love the sharing, streaming and embedding capabilities.
You can find a lot of decent porn on public drives too.

NAS is like a online harddrive? I had a baffalo NAS or something, I could torrent but it's software were old as shit and most of the time my PC could not find it. It also made a ton of noise, I have fast internet so maybe it would be a good idea, would be nice to have all my movies in the sky.
whats the photoshop of video editing software in current year?
After Effects

Or Sony Vegas Pro, after having worked with both for quite large projects, After Effects wins imho, especially if you come from an Adobe background, such as photoshop or illustrator...

Hey /g/, I need some advice on PC cooling. I have a GTX 680 in a computer I built a few years ago. I came back to it a few months away and found that the GPU reaches temperatures of 80-83C when running heavy games like The Witcher 3, eventually causing the driver to crash. I opened it and thoroughly cleaned and dusted, but I'm still facing this issue. Is the solution to add more cooling? What kind of fan do I need to purchase for this?
>>60741372
Overheating doesn't crash drivers, that's just Nvidia with their superior GeForce experience.
>>60741372
reapply thermal paste to the gpu and make sure the fan is spinning up all the way
>>60741372
80c can be normal.
Not much over 85c though.
Does x86 have a long term future in the consumer space?
>>60741274
AMD's Zen architecture is more power efficient so it may have some more staying power in laptops and mobile devices.
I hope not.
>>60741274
Unless Google and Apple figure out a way to make the desktop truly go away, yes. Tablets and phones still suck for actual productivity. Many businesses have custom in-house software that won't leave the platform without a fight. Cloud magic isn't a proper substitute for real CPU processing power. A lot of coffee klatch operations can probably get away with an anemic computing setup.
Desktop ARM software has been a non-starter since the Acorn died off. Microsoft's WindowsRT was stillborn and more of a bitter retaliation against Moblin. Linux still has issues with ARM architectures after all these years and Torvald's browbeating has gotten himself nowhere.
Attempts to wedge x86 out of its space has been a non-starter. Transmeta is ded and has been ded. nVidia supposedly has a monster ARM chip cooked up in the labs, but decided to leave it there.
I bought a godaddy domain name and was instantly flooded with calls and texts so I registered for the donotcall.gov list and it worked for me. However, I work for a delivery service that uses a system that is now being blocked by this as well. They can't send me text messages with orders. I can't find a way to get my number off the list or at least allow my job to send me texts. Any help?
>>60741221
no go fuck off
>>60741221
I'm curious, how many calls did you get in how much time? What were they selling?
Insteading of listing your number in a registry, can't you just block unwanted calls using software? There are databases of spam caller numbers.

To be fair she's meant to be the "tech diversifier". If she lets the company host a conference full of straight white male speakers, she's not doing her job.
Just ignore them. They are powerless if you just tell them to deliver the damn code and stfu OR eat a hat of shit and an hero. They don't come back.
>>60740736
Not really, when you tell them to show some code they paste some shitty "hello world" example and an army of nu-male white knights start clapping and telling them how brave they are.

You don't need either of these for computer games for the foreseeable future.
Anyhow, it seems like on the new Intel platform, mainboards can apparently be very broadly specified in terms of what they support and don't support.
And Linus mentioned they had the idiotic idea to sell keys to enable hardware RAID functionality at a premium, too.
>>60739050

>mainboards can apparently be very broadly specified in terms of what they support and don't support
It seemed to me like mainboards have to support the highest tier CPUs, meaning the CPU you put into them gets to dictate what's actually supported.
