Apple A10X Fusion chip.
The desktop computer is finished. It's over. What now?
>>60771184
ARM laptops and all-in-ones.
>>60771184
Laptops, tablets and "cloud computing" once fibre optic becomes widespread. At some point it'll just be simpler to centralize more intensive computing because the loss of speed of sending the data over for a supercomputer to take care of it and send it back will be less than the loss of speed of computing it yourself even if you have a really good PC.
Nearly everything has a 24/7 wifi connection already so I could easily see the big operating systems integrate this kind of thing in their OS, while more basic computing can just be done in the OS because even the cheap CPUs do so much more than you need.
the year of the linux desktop will finally arrive, and the desktop will be reborn, and our sins washed away
No, I know you guys are talking about it.
I mean nobody in the real world. A few years ago I'd see people talking non-stop about Apple and everything they were doing but now nobody cares. Nobody's talking about how they're going to get the next device, nobody talking about the new things they're coming out with. The people with iPhones don't seem intent on upgrading them anytime soon and neither do the ones with their macbooks.
What's up?
>>60770339
People are tired of Applel's shit is what's happening.
>>60770339
I plan on getting the next iPhone to replace my 6s Plus.
As far as their computers go, the sad fact is that technology has simply been slowing down. Look how tiny the performance bump is with each new processor revision these days. I'm still using my mid-2013 Macbook Air because they've yet to release anything that is enough of an all-around upgrade to justify the cost.
How often are non-gamers buying new laptops these days? I have to imagine it's got to be the same case.
>>60770339
I never bought an apple made anything not even used. :)
What do?

Am I the only one who gets a warm and fuzzy feeling around XML? I know that when
someone asks "am I the only one?" the answer is almost certainly
"no," but in this case I'm really not sure.

How do I improve my ping, download and upload speed?
>>60769848
Gib more monies to ur ISP, goy.
>>60769887
Literally this. Give then another $75 a month and you will probably get 25 down
(Yes I know that's still shit)
>How do I improve my ping
Move
or see if another ISP is available with better peering
>How do I improve my download
Use Ethernet if you're not, if you are, pay more money.

First time on /g/, sorry if these threads shit up the board, I've been doing motion graphics and video related work for awhile now and was thinking about trying to learn to code and switch up my career. I've worked at a government contracting company and a marketing firm but now I've got a pretty basic graphic design job and while it doesn't make me want to kill myself I don't see it taking me too far. I know basically nothing about code outside of a little bit from using After Effects, is it worth getting into? It seems like a lucrative career and I am in a position now where I can go to school for it if I want. Any advice?
>>60769016
Where do you live? Makes a big difference.
>>60769042
Oklahoma City.
>>60769250
It was lucrative for me, but I self-taught myself from a relatively young age and took core classes in CS. Also had a STEM degree. Transitioned from a shitty IT job to a dev role and basically tripled my salary.
There's tons of online courses from universities and sites out there that give great tutorials, especially for web dev. I would start with one of those since you've never even programmed before. Unless you dedicate yourself full-time to something like this, it'll probably take a couple of years. Shouldn't be a problem if you have the interest.
Hey team got something funny to share
My mama recently bought herself an Apple watch and today she told me she was thinking of returning it because she couldn't find the pinterest and Facebook app on it. I asked her what she thought she'd be able to do on those platforms from such a tiny device and I could see the Aha moment where she realized iToys are usel6
lmao
Someone please enlighten me on Windows.
The stuff I CAN'T google, preferably.
It's shit

So I have been looking for some password crackers to use for... Totally legit reasons. I have found a few and have been recommended some. I was just wondering what you guys use.

read the forums.
they were removed from intel's """"sponsorship"""" program literally a week before this video came out. no fucking way this is a coincidence
The way I see it, he has been pent up about Intel's shitty practices for a while, but never said anything because he was clearly being paid by them. Once they dropped him, the floodgates opened and he let loose all his complaints.
I love C++, going to learn Python, but I want to learn some obscure one just for the fun of it.

If you are gonna learn programs you are never gonna use in industry for your own improvement, then the list is:
-Haskell
-ANSI Common Lisp
-Ada
If a programming language is good, it is already well known.

No and if you recommend anything enterprise class people will shit all over you.

I took an "ISP-level" networking paper at university, and we set up an MPLS network on some Juniper routers.
why are you using mpls
