Sup niggaz. I know i shouldn't use you as a support groupe for fustraited programmers, who are equally sexually fustraited, but then again, why the fuck not, im high anyways ;)... Ok so im working in the ubuntu terminal window (i know it's not gentuu, but im not a neckbeard, so it ok). Im connecting to my godaddy server with ssh, and i need another tab in the same uhh SSH session. Is there a command i could use or do i need some haxor420 tool to do this?
>>60799645
Just open another terminal and ssh a second time, muthafugga xddd.
Remember to click that fucking lik button.
The worst thing about pot a day later - all the shit you posted when high you thought was super funny, was just super cringe
>>60799831
Fuck dat shit nigga. I dont care what u guys think. i dont care weather i emberised myself on 4chan annonymously. Nigga u gotta stop careing about what others think of u ;)
Do any of you guys use Matrix? It's an open, decentralised, end-to-end-encrypted communications network that seems to be avoiding the problems Tox faced due to being completely distributed. I guess it could also be thought of as a big step forwards from XMPP.
>FOSS, both the server and the official client (Riot), uses a double ratchet encryption protocol like Signal and Wire, and the encrypted protocol libray is audited, although the end-to-end encryption feature is still in beta
>You can host your own servers, federate between servers, and have group chats across servers, or just use the official server
>Has 'bridges' that bridge between other networks like IRC, XMPP, Slack, Telegram, Gitter, Discord, etc
>Has voice and video calls, although you can't encrypt group calls yet
>Web client, desktop client, mobile clients
>Really useful even if you just use it for IRC, keeps you connected without the need for a bouncer or anything
>The protocol
http://matrix.org/
>Desktop clients
https://riot.im/desktop.html
>Web client
https://riot.im/app/
Of course
I used it for some time, but all the public channels are dead. and I didnt find any good private ones. so yea
Friends host their own, it's ok. Definitely needs polish, Rocketchat by comparison just in looks and functionality is much more appealing.
Though for VOIP we just use Mumble.
is it degenerate to leave os animations on?
>>60799546
>degenerate
No. I don't like them though, so i turn them off.
How old is your computer that you can't run Windows animations? It's not like it's the Vista days of Core 2 Solos/Duos and 2-4GB of RAM, where the dock would make your laptop shit itself..
How should I improve my cyber security skills?
I'm starting a junior level cyber security position soon, and was looking for some tips/pointers to improve my capabilities as much as possible before I do. I have strong web-based coding skills, and I'm now learning Python (amateur move, should have done that a long time ago).
I have no certificates/qualifications but have competed in several CTF competitions and know my stuff when it comes to anything web based. I'm able to pick new things up quickly and utilise them to do things they shouldn't do, but lack guidance.
My learning checklist is as follows:
- Web (done)
- Python (started)
- Assembly
But then there's a bunch of stuff like Metasploit that would be perfect for the competitions, but I'm not sure how relevant it is IRL?
Finally, where do I find resources to test these skills on? My biggest constraint is the lack of vulnerable setups/VM's to test and I would prefer not to try on live targets.

Please note I mentioned improving my cyber security skills, not making them worse

Just fuck shit up.
I want to take online courses to get me the fuck out of this rut.
I work 6-5 typically M-F, and want to use my evenings and weekends to take classes to learn something. Getting a hold of an advisor is hard as fuck, but I'll even take the day off to sit down with one.
My problem is that I can't decide what side of computers I'm interested in. I like installing, running and using programs. I like troubleshooting problems and working with code. I want to develop my understanding of computers and aquire certs and degrees that will help me get out of this bullshit job I'm in.
tl;dr Any suggestions for what field I should go into?
> I like troubleshooting problems and working with code
Like what? Working with a python script?
Get a microsoft cert and go work helpdesk
None. Pajeet and Rajeesh took er jobs.

Is this like programming with an RPN calculator stack?
It's great. I respect it as much as i respect lisp.
Is the Razer Blade really an overpriced piece of shit like people say it is?
What do you recommend instead? I just want to play CSGO on med/high settings, and have a light&portable laptop since I'm always on the move.
>>60798382
It is, also breaks easily.
I've heard Gigabyte is alright but do more research.
>>60798423
I got a laptop from Gigabyte once and it was a piece of shit.
I'm not sure if it was just the model I got (P35K) but holy fuck. flimsy screen, keyboard, extremely loud fan even when doing the most basic of things, and one day magically stopped charging. Also it lost a few screws.
It's overpriced and you'll look like a child with this stupid logo, but it's a good notebook.
Hello /g/, I have a question; should I buy a used Thinkpad t410 or a used Acer Chromebook CB3? They are about the same price, 130 CAD. Leaning towards the Chromebook here due to the increased battery life, portability and it being lightweight, but the Thinkpad is much more rugged and parts are easier to come by. Need it for school work, web browsing, and perhaps YouTube viewing.
>>60797921
Pick Chromebook. It's a far superior choice in your case, plus never buy a PC which comes with (((Microsoft))) Winshit.
>>60797921
I'd get the Chromebook and install Crouton.
If I do go with the Chromebook, would I be able to swap out the SSD for one with a higher capacity?
I have a $1200 budget, what's the best gaming laptop I can get?
>>60797326
get aids
>gaming
>laptop
Choose one.
>>60797326
None. They start at about $2k. Your pic related is, afaik, absolute cheapest at, $1.8k or €1.7k.

What if I wanted to get an AIO for my gfx? I have founders edition, that should be enough reason to want one.
>>60796755
You should sell it and buy an aftermarket GPU.
>>60796779
Already weighed up my options and it's still cheaper for me to get an AIO

If you have resources for it. Qt is a good approximate solution for a cross platform application.
You didn't forget the emotional design, did you /g/?
>>60795662
This doesn't make any sense.
How would I build a minimally-viable car? A quarter of the chassis with some meme design car light on top?
>>60795662
What is emotional design? Is that what's been ruining FF?
This seems to take a long way round of saying "make the core work first" but maybe refracted through a Karlyfilter. Or might just be bollocks I'm not sure

curved is shit because unless u sit perfectly centered it's gonna look weird as hell.
Curved is fucking shit, you have to sit like a cuck dead center at a specific distance or it'll be awkward as fuck.
>>60795647
Amazing news. Now I get to have windows and Samsung botnet me
