Is there any guide on making procedural music for videogames?
http://www.deflemask.com/manual.pdf
I recently improved my php skills and realized how easy it would be to setup a streaming site for some kind of anime or cartoon etc. Just to make some sweet ad revenue.
Problem is, streaming takes quite some bandwidth and can be expensive in a large scale, in the worst case scenario i might even make loss instead of revenue.
So, besides the question in the title, I also wonder what kind of free video streaminh services there are I can upload that weebshit to, so I don't have to waste bandwidth of my own webserver and can simply copy paste the streaming url into my html.
Been thinking about using Google Drive for that. Toughts?
>>60948948
dont bother making one for the average user type person, there's already far too many out there with larger marketshare. Starting off is not something that's easily accomplished anymore in a world of startups and venture capitalists.
google drive is alright for storage, you can definitely get 500mbps off it but the problem isn't speed but io. They will throttle you for excessive api usage unless you're using jewgle servers. On the plus side if you're using google servers drive data isn't egress so the banwidth is free. The problem isn't large files it's scanning lots of large files, which often cases might not be an issue for you.
Where were you when Google became Apple?
I sure am glad that I don't have to deal with any of this bullshit as I don't use
>Snapchat
>Pokemon Go
>Banking apps
Another reason to just use FOSS apps.

I sure hope CopperheadOS will stay funded for the foreseeable future.
General privacy / security talk thread.
>Do you always use a VPN / tor when watching pornography and other compromising material?
>Do you encrypt your hdd, phone? If not, in case your phone is stolen - do you see a possibility of blackmail?
>If your best friend wrote to you on facebook messenger asking you to quickly borrow a sum of money while providing a viable explanation - would you consider calling him to confirm his identity first? Answer honestly.
Let's see how many normies are here.
>Do you live in a country that repsects your privacy?
>If no VPN, would you use a public wi-fi network?
>Would you use proprietary software like an OS/Browser knowing that it contains a backdoor?
>Do you use a password manager? What is your approach to passwords?
>Do you care about big companies collecting your data for marketing purposes? Why/why not?
>How important documents are on your computer? How do you store them?
>Do you use cryptocurrencies? How do you store them?
>Do you use Google services?
>Do you sometimes use work accounts (like email) for private purposes?
>Do you educate your family/friends about good security practices? How do you communicate?
>Do you perform regular backups?
>Do you make regular updates?
>Do you use an antivirus, firewall, etc?
>Did phishing attacks ever to you?
>Were you ever a target of a personalized attack?
>Would you accept a FB friend request from a person you're not certain you've met?
>Do you have anything to hide?
>Do you always use a VPN / tor when watching pornography and other compromising material?
Absolutely, VPN
>Do you encrypt your hdd, phone? If not, in case your phone is stolen - do you see a possibility of blackmail?
Both
>If your best friend wrote to you on facebook messenger asking you to quickly borrow a sum of money while providing a viable explanation - would you consider calling him to confirm his identity first? Answer honestly.
If it was morning, I probably would transfer right away
>Do you live in a country that repsects your privacy?
Poland, wish it was Switzerland
>If no VPN, would you use a public wi-fi network?
Yes but I would refrain from logging into anything. I would also watch if HTTPS is on.
>Would you use proprietary software like an OS/Browser knowing that it contains a backdoor?
I'm using Chromium, but no Wangblows
>Do you use a password manager? What is your approach to passwords?
I have 2 sets of passwords: important and not important. Important (long 'pseudo random h4ck#r P4ss!') are stored in KeepassX, not important - same easy 'abcd1234' password used for everything
>Do you care about big companies collecting your data for marketing purposes? Why/why not?
For everyday use not really no.
>How important documents are on your computer? How do you store them?
Nothing really except irrelevant stuff like somebody's server backups I don't care that much about.
>Do you use cryptocurrencies? How do you store them?
Atm. no altcoins, but I used to use copay wallet.
>Do you use Google services?
Yes (mail and youtube). It's not my main e-mail acc. though. Two main mail accounts are on protonmail.com and a VPS self-hosted mail server
>Do you sometimes use work accounts (like email) for private purposes?
Absolutely never.
>Do you educate your family/friends about good security practices? How do you communicate?
I try but they never care. Friends are often
"Hurr durr but I willingly submit part of my privacy in order to protect the country from terrorism and fraud"
I try to bring up Snowden quote and UN declaration of human rights stating that privacy is an undisputable right.
All of my marijuana dealers (illegal in Poland) use Signal though.
>Do you perform regular backups?
On my personal PC not really, no. On my VPS neither. I feel I should but I'm too lazy.
>Do you make regular updates?
pacman -Syu, apt-get update && apt - get upgrade
>Do you use an antivirus, firewall, etc?
Not really.
>Did phishing attacks ever to you?
Never
>Were you ever a target of a personalized attack?
Never
>Would you accept a FB friend request from a person you're not certain you've met?
Yes. Not much to hide on my Facebook profile.
>Do you have anything to hide?
Absolutely nothing.
>>60949245
is it worth to make my own graphic engine for make an indie game?
yea
sure.
make your own diaper too.
>>60948988
If you want to make a game, hell no.
However it can be quite the learning experience. If you do decide to take a knack at it, I'd go about it in sort of an agile way - think about what changes are necessary to get the next iteration out. That way you never get lost in the giant forest of possibilities of designing such an engine.
Best of luck.
Anyone experience with deep learning voodoo for NLP tasks?
If so, I appreciate your story.

WHY WOULD THEY GET RID OF THE DOWNLOAD SIZE INFO. FOR WHAT FUCKING PURPOSE DOES THIS SERVE
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
comcast doesnt want you knowing how fast you hit their data cap so they can charge you an extra 50 dollars
The diversity hire at mozilla couldn't understand the portion of code she was supposed to maintain so she deleted it.
It's probably 10x more verbose now, while doing less.
Seriously though, the old function was probably doing a bunch of global variable pointer hackjob shit just to introduce the array of file system inodes into the downloaded files list.
Is there anything else in the firefox menu that actually requires knowledge of the filesize of recently downloaded objects along with it's origin URL and date of download?
I dunno but it kinda pisses me off. Knowing the dates and sizes is actually useful for me because sometimes I want to find something I downloaded on a certain date, or like pic related sometimes I'll download a bunch of files with letter/number names but I'll remember "ok x was 5mb" and so on.
Removing shit like this is why mozilla is losing more and more market share.
AMD is garbage and if you buy AMD you hate this planet and all the people in it because you're going to cause global warming.
okay, kid
I don't think there will be any polar ice caps left after Intel unleashes its i9 disaster.
>>60948674
right now intel is the one causing a global warming with their i9s running at 100C with 240mm AIOs.

I'm going to college in August and I obviously need a laptop. I'm going into business so im not doing heavy tasks, however I want a decent, high quality laptop just for small tasks. I was looking at the microsoft surface laptop which apparently is a meme, macbook pro and the dell xps 13. Any other suggestions also my price range is $1000-1300
Buy a T60 and install CloverOS on it.

Is google a tech company or an ad company?
>>60948639
Ad company, they only research new technology that can be applied to better deliver ads.
>>60948639
You should do some research, maybe go to school, then kill yourself.
>>60948639
They've always been an ad company. Their product has always been you.
