Wait up, is it true that I shouldnt be shutting down my PC at the end of the day but instead just put it to sleep?

heard something about turning it on and off fucks with hardware.

Is power consumption significant when just put to sleep. like how much we talking?

Something like ten watts.

It doesn't hurt the hardware no matter what you do, off, hibernate, sleep, or leave it on.

>heard something about turning it on and off fucks with hardware.
I used my previous PC for 6-7 years, shut it down every time I could and it worked fine till the end. I guess you could say that after 5 years my motherboard flipped me off (I was a shitter back then and I don't know what happened) and this could happen, but it was cheap and shouldn't happen on a decent PC.

It doesn't make sense, given that the current and cross-sectional diameter of the circuitry is too small to have a notable Lorenz effect on the rest of the circuit. What's more, it would save space and allow for a more space/volume efficient design, heat could be exchanged more easily too.

What's stopping us from making spheroid Printed Circuits for our PC's?

heat/ease of manufacture?
>>
>>60978886
ease of manufacture makes sense but heat can be exchanged easier, since the circuit could be rolled like a log and have coolant flow over it like water over the blood vessels in a fish lung.
>>
>>60978886
It would be more efficient too since there would be no necessity for long-ass busses going from Ram to CPU since there could be at most 3 nm of distance due to the 3d design.
A lot of inefficiencies can be done with using a 3d design.

I am using one of these little pre-made DC-DC buck converters off eBay and I want to know what resistance these are and I dont know how to decipher the markings. Im asking because I want to attach a bigger potentiometer to it for ease of use.

By doing a quick google search, you come up with 10kohm POT

Looking at that image, I see "103"
There's a pretty good chance that the potentiometer is 10,000Ω

With what you have, you should unplug it. Get some surge protector extensions for your computer and you'll probably be fine to leave it on.
