if you know how to use them you should start a small project and test your knawledge
>thinking about upgrading to a new phone
>realize that I'll have to start carrying around a USB-C charger or adapter because everyone else still uses micro chargers and cables
Why couldn't everyone just stick with micro for a few more years?
>>61021531
>buying a new phone
>expecting to carry a charger
What? I've been charging my phones once every few days for years.
>>61021531
why do you care what other people use?
>>61021531
The same reason people aren't putting VGA on new monitors. If nobody wanted to upgrade, we'd be stuck with the same garbage we used 20 years ago.

Great! That case already looks like the courier played soccer with it. Saves some disappointment on arrival.
How does it look with the side panels installed?

Forget the 1st Link >Iron Holder and Sponge
Didn't realize the actual kit had the same thing.
>>61022183
Same kit as on Aliexpress or something, but marked up 1/4? Fucking brilliant.
The internet has allowed all kinds of shit to be free. But why do I have to pay a telecom for internet service? Why isn't the internet itself free?
Do you wanna run a cord underground to 4chan's servers?
Wtf digital goods are "free" aka easily pirates but physical resources still cost money? Why don't we live in a universe with non-finite resources?

I just upgraded my PC completely and the monitors won't get any signal when I turn on the computer.
I upgraded to a GTX 1070 from a GTX 970 and the monitors are both running from DVI and they are acer about 3-5 years old max.

Assuming one took the typical precautions, just how risky is malicious for-profit hacking? I imagine the NSA could find anyone doing it, but do they care enough to do so? Is it as lucrative as everyone assumes or do you make more with a high-end salary? Anyone have any experiences they can share?
The NSA doesn't care, but the FBI will kick your fucking ass.
>>61020942
Yeah, I would expect. How hard is it to catch a malicious hacker who's careful though, do the FBI have the same technical prowess as the NSA?
>>61020936
Well, there are no 'typical precautions' effectively. The levels of tradecraft required to really fuck with the Internet and not have it push back are very high 1) Tor 2) hardened privacy distro 3) public wifi in combination, etc etc.
I've had to set up Tor for journalists before and I put together a workflow. In the end I knew they would never be able to follow it all.
It's so easy to slip up and get fucked - if you're doing something that will actually bother (((them)))

Why don't you have /boot encrypted libreboot flashed Parabola GNU/Linux with OpenRC instead of systemd bloatware? You're just asking to get fucked anon
>>61020727
Because worrying about systemd and management-engine malware is getting worked up about a very small risk. It's like people who worry about being killed in a terrorist attack, when they're really hundreds of times more likely to die in a car accident, and thousands of times more likely to die of heart disease.
You close the barn door before you worry about the tiny crack in the wall, if you worry about it at all.
>>61020727
Isn't your CPU still backdoored? Or HDD firmware?
>>61020767
Nope, I use an old Intel processor which doesn't likely have a backdoor and if it does libreboot adds a layer of protection from it.
