Why do so God damn many Pajeets pursue majors in programming in CS/IT and programming?

Do they have some state paid scholarships/tuitions or what?

Two reasons. First is culture, Indians are influenced to study STEM, Law or Medicine early on. Second is demand. Outsourcing created a huge software development economy in India and even though I think its died down, its still there.

Indians often speak English and are willing to work for less than white westerners.

Most tech jobs, even the ones that require English, don't require you to be physically in any specific location

I need advice on the best method for transferring 200-300 images (average 4.3mb an image) from a digital camera SD card to Google Drive via a Toshiba Chromebook.

Right now when I put the SD card into the Chromebook it seems to try and (synch/copy/download) the images from the SD card before then uploading to Google Drive.

This can easily take 10+ hours to complete and often it "drops" or "hangs up" after so many and I have to restart the process.

I think it's because the Chromebook can't handle the strain of processing so many images. But there is no way to cut the transfer into smaller chunks as the camera doesn't have that functionality when saving images to the SD card.

Do I just need to get a laptop with better specs that can handle processing such an intensive task?

Anyone?

>average 4.3mb an image

Is there a reason you need to have such retardedly huge images?
>>
>>62355079
Can't you just access the SD card from the explorer and then drag/drop into Google Drive? Or simply open up the location of SD card from Google Drive? It's not that hard...

I finally got my fist ever full time IT help desk job

Since doing help desk work is shit and I don't want to do it for too long, how should I go about figuring out what I should try to learn and what my next job should be? I already know I don't want to become a software dev or a programmer but I have no idea what sort of admin work is still going to be in demand in a few years other then cloud/virtualization, which is way over my head at the moment

What do?

What steps did you take to land this job? Sorry to respond to your question with another question but I'm trying to do the same thing as you, only I just entered the workforce.
>>

spending six years working a shitty helpdesk (really just assigning tickets to engineers) job, getting the A+, getting an Associates in computer networking. It took me a long time and many failed interviews to land this job so I don't plan to leave it any time soon but I want to get a better idea of what my next move should be so I can start planning accordingly

What is this feature in my BIOS that seems to be forced in on CPUs newer than Core2? I hear about vulnerabilities constantly. Is this some kind of hardware backdoor? If this is some kind of business feature why would a business choose a hardware remote access that is exploitable over a system-agent like setup? I've looked around online but am having trouble finding just what IME is really supposed to do. Is there any way to remove or block it? Also when configuring the Linux kernel, what does enabling the IME module actually do?

Yes.

Should i be concerned enough to disable it? If there is not a way to disable it does AMD RYZEN have something similar?
>>
>>62354902

Can't disable it. Yes.

Use Adaway and Minminguard. Also pirate apps that does'nt need online use to make sure that no malware is sending your data to remote servers - or block the internet access with AFWall+. But once again don't pirate apps that need to be online to work

If you buy, let's say a monitor and another exact monitor for a few dollars because it's broken and send in the broken monitor to get your money back for the functional monitor you paid for, would the store notice?

So I have a 13" retina macbook, early 2015 lowest model. For a laptop it is more than enough for me. Would I be able to get around the same power from a thinkpad that is hackintoshed and get the same battery life too? If so what model do I buy?

I am running OSX on a used T420 I bought off of ebay. Battery life went down from 10hrs to 7hrs, but it seems to run a bit smoother than windows.
I noticed some problems with the lenovo tools and hardware, but if you don't use them its fine
>>
There's no point in running the inferior OS on the superior hardware. You already have the inferior hardware for the inferior OS.

Save money and piece it together

HP 8770w for ~300 bucks, dual core is okay, i7 3840qm is best but hops the price.
Also order a M3000M, or M4000M, or GTX 980m MXM GPU and swap out the K3000M inside.

Enjoy a desktop in laptop form factor.
