What music do you listen to while programming /g/?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVKn1Ke4hVQ
>>61036593
something that is noisy and hyperactive but has a catchy tune.
It helps to focus because it tunes out the noise in my head.
there is something weird about that girl
lately i'm listening to the room 2814 mix repeatedly but usually it's lots of shoegaze albums
slowdive, the ecstasy of saint theresa, tears run rings, mbv
i guess because the vocals are generally hard to hear it's less distracting
>>61036593
Why is 80% of Japanese music just so over-engineered? Really, it just sounds like shit.
Does anyone on here know of a working crack for Directory Opus 12? This shit is the best file manager ever, but it costs way too much and the crack I used to use stopped working because of something stupid I did.
So tell me /g/, how did you crack your copy?
>>61036570
Don't use non-free software please. There are many free as in freedom and money file managers in the world.
>So tell me /g/, how did you crack your copy?
We don't, we use proper file managers in GNU/Linux.
>>61036574
Yeah, but they suck. DOpus is heaven.
>>61036588
Wrong. It's can't be heaven if it does not respect your freedoms and does not run on a proper OS.
How was your day, fellow IT fags?
>Work at a NOC for a regional ISP in the south east
>Get an email from a client in Ft. Lauderdale, requesting I phone them
>Ring the number provided
>Someone picks up the phone and tells me active directory isn't working
>Tell them we're a NOC for an ISP and AD isn't our problem
>The guy I'm talking to cuts me off and says it is our problem
>He says they migrated their domain controllers to an off-site location
>After they migrated it takes 15+ minutes to access anything in active directory assuming they can access anything at all
>He says he wants me to make "the network faster" because he's paying for a 1Gbps connection so "there shouldn't be any problems"
>Find the off-site location they're talking about in Google Maps
>Realize they migrated their domain controllers to a site in fucking northern Canada
>The city is so far up north they probably get 6 months of continuous darkness and 6 months of continuous light
>Client gets pissed off when I tell him is request isn't possible
>>61036560
Huh? Doesn't Ryder makes fun of Morgan Freeman after you cut your hair with him?
>>61036579
Not if you get a really expensive hair cut.
>>61036582
Really?
>>61036546
yeah i like it its good
>>61036546
no i hate it its bad
>>61036546
Does it respect my freedoms?
Does it protect my privacy and from fingerprinting?
Does it leak my IP when used via a proxy/tor?
I'm so fucking tired of hiding. I'm sick of being paranoid. I hate the way that the internet is set up. I just want privacy but also usability. I just want privacy and security without having to sacrifice everything else I love about technology.
I just want to go back to 2005 man. I just wanna go back to a simpler time, before all this.
Does anyone feel the same?
don't worry, man, the NSA doesn't care about your hentai stash

I never gave a fuck then, somehow I'm still fine. Go figure
Lol chill out. You're crazy.
My old Logitech Trackman Wheel Optical is dying after many years.
Never do I want a pointing device to die in my hands again!
I stumbled upon this range of industrial trackballs that should outlive us all.
http://www.nsi-be.com/pointing-devices/trackball-units/ergonomical-trackball/
Only problem is: I can't find anywhere in the world that will actually sell me one! Like add to cart, pay, receive in parcel.
I have contacted a couple of these industrial sellers and they usually say something like: "We won't get any unless we get 50 orders, do you want 50?"
I just want one of these things! Any ideas?
Also ITT - Other favourite trackballs. Share the love of balls and pointing.
That's a big ass trackball. I'm using the M570 or whatever the wireless logitech trackball is named. I like it and used to use it as my main mouse. I switch from this to two traditional mice every day. I may move back to trackball only if I can get one of dem tittypads so my wrist has something to rest on.
>>61036525
>That's a big ass trackball.
There are two different models in that pic.
Indeed the one in the picture with the hand on it is the larger one with a 50mm ball.
I really like the smaller one with the 38mm ball.
Much more manageable.
>>61036525
>dem tittypads
Not a true tittypad but I do have one of these.

It has served me very well so far.
ITT: We post laptops that are superior to ThinkPads.

Fujitsu Lifebook.
So I have a Lenovo IdeaPad y700. I know it's not a powerhouse, but it was a 1000 dollar "gaming laptop".
My specs are:
Processor: AMD FX-8800P Radeon R7, 12 Compute Cores 4C+8G (2.1 GhZ)
Video Card AMD Radeon R7 Graphics
Video Card #2 AMD Radeon (TM) R9 M385X
RAM 8.0 GB
Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 (build 14393), 64-bit
What kind of games am I looking at here? I have successfully played Skyrim and some older games, but have a lot of trouble running Dragon Age Origins. It seems like a mixed bag, and systemrequirementslab.com often skews it a bit.
Dark Souls 3 premium edition is about 50% off.
>>61036329
My central question was meant to be what will work? That's what the post really revolved around. Does my processor look like it can run DS 3?
>>61036290
Are you playing the Steam edition of DA:O?
Because that version has known problems, namely it crashes a fuckton more than it should and I believe there's a memory leak issue too.
>>61036346
You can probably play DaS1 or 2 (maybe not the SotFS version). DaS1's port is horrid, but DSfix helps and it is a pretty "old" game and DaS2's port has no business being as good as it is.
How well can you run skyrim, for reference?
Guys, I am looking for something I can add to my earbud headphone jack to prevent the strain relief from breaking at this exact part (not these exact earphones, but basically right where the strain relief hits the hard plastic portion of the jack)
It would be for an L-shaped jack. I don't know if heat shrink would even fit on the corner, or solidifying it with an epoxy would help
My pair I've had for a year and a half just broke right there and I was unable to fix it so i want to prevent a new pair from doing it
>>61036251
Not your tech support, BUT.
I used to take paperclips, unfold and straighten them, and then coil them tightly around the attachment point.
It acts as a brace for it, and relieves some of the stress on that particular part.
Or just get braided cables / don't treat them like a pig.
>>61036266
Not op but didn't the ends of the paper clips ever stab you?
>>61036251
Use sealant or glue/epoxy glue. If u dont care about how its look, you can additionaly coil it with threads and then put glue on top of it.
Net Neutrality, what are we going to do about it?
Absolutely nothing huuu
Whine and do nothing
This is only a thing in America so basically not relevant
>tfw iPhones are the best phone on the market because 99% of Android phones are garbage and all but one model basically lose support / upgrades within one year if not less
Am I really going to have to buy an iPhone 7 later this year ?
Why can't the iPhone be topped?
Pic unrelated. It's also shit.
i just got the keyone a couple days ago after being iphone fag the whole time.
I think im going to like the blakcberry more
>>61036114
i want copperhead os to support blackberry devices so i can have a cool secure and very professional looking device
but non-google phones don't update fast enough and copperhead os dev is already jaded about how little contribution is going toward the project so there's no possibility
itt: nobody replies to op but instead this is just /spg/
Been using ProgeCAD 2013 for 4 years. Now its shitting itself multiple registry problems I cant fix VBA etc etc. Can buy 2018 version from Aust store for AU$600, or Africa Store for AU$400 or India Store for AU$150. WTF any anons know a better solution?

Are computer tablets a smart purchase or would it be wiser to get a laptop with a separate drawing tablet?
obviously looking for something for art and design
I have yet to see a tablet that's suitable for digital art. Maybe the really expensive ones?
>>61036038
the latest surface pro and the surface pro competitors are all pretty competent and support the wacom active pens
there's that beastly (and super expensive) vaio canvas too
