How do I explain the importance of version control to people who can't even use a command line? I'm trying to teach a few people how to use git but they just don't get it...

Use a GUI tool for it like Kraken, hell even Github have their own GUI tool for git. Show them a visual demonstration of version control and pull requests, pulling from master, rebasing etc

What are the cons of the Redmi Note 4 SD? I am hoping to get one in a few weeks. Also are you using a custom rom? If so which MM rom is the most stable one? Yes MM because having Xposed is a must for me. There's a thread in XDA by some ganesh jizz on LOS13.0 and it's the only one that looks slightly stable. Are there any other ROMS except MIUI that can be used a daily driver?

I want to build a PC specifically designed to handle digital art creation.
I've done my research and the most important parts for the job and they are the processor and RAM.
I want to work on large canvas sizes without lag, use textured/angled brushes without lag, possibly animate without lag.
I'm wondering if it's necessary to drop a bunch of money on an i7 and 32gigs of RAM, or if I can settle for less with the same results.

Anyone on here who built a PC specifically for art with any advice? Thanks. Pic unrelated.

nevermind I literally just fixed it using a dictionary

_cake = {}
def cake(t):
if t >100:
return (0,0)
else:
if t not in _cake:
_cake[t] = 0.01*t*(1- sum(cake(n) for n in range(t)))
return _cake[t]

nigga you call cake(100) and you have:
>an array of 100 numbers
>100 calls from cake(0) to cake(99)
>so then you have
>>1+100 arrays of 0-100
>>10000 more calls, from cake(0) to cake(98)

I'm not surprised it all broke down.

As a programmer, what do I need to do to optimize a program for multiple cores/threads? The future is obviously in more and more threads, but It feels like some programs don't benefit enough from it.
I already do compute intensive tasks on separate threads, but is that all it takes? Optimizing for concurrent execution sounds crucial for me.

>>
It's simple, just throw your work into multiple processes and the OS scheduler will do it for you.
>>
>>61039370
Isn't that the same as running one process and using multiple threads? Thread management is also done by the OS, isn't it?

Realistically how hard would it actually be to throw together a decent browser.

Browser have been feature racing and standards overbuilding for so long, they're pretty much entire operating systems worth of functionality. Just getting html/css rendering and JavaScript running with anything like 90% of the hellscape that is webdev is a huge challenge. Nevermind trying to match the largest inner systems ever built.

That's why people start their browser project with forking chromium or gecko. You save literally thousands of development hours.

Thinking of upgrading from 75/75 to their gigabit package. With TV/Internet/Phone it's around $200 a month.

Is there a secret deal to get this price down or am I cucked?
12 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
New customer price is $70 for 1gb/1gb internet by itself from Verizon. Even as a current customer for just the internet it's $120~ a month. Try to get the new customer price somehow.

>cable tv service
>landline
not even once, bud. get rid of that shit.
>>
Yes, there is a secret deal. Mention that you were/are in law enforcement, emergency/military services, or your status as a white-female who is also the sole parent of two mixed babies and has trouble paying rent because she works her ass of at a McDick. (I'm not joking it really works and they gave me a price drop at the end of my last contract with them.)

>>61039146

People in the house use the tv and landline sadly. I don't think I could convince them otherwise. I'd love to just have internet man : (

Yeah it really sickens me how good of a deal new customers get.
