So my grandma needs me to write her a spreadsheet, gonna pay me $100, but this is what I can't figure out.
She does a monthly audit for people who pay dues for her organization. I need it so she can print a report, so basically if she entered a $5.00 and the date they paid, I need excel to read this range and print a separate report that will list all the names and the amount they paid, as well as their address and account type. Then these need to be separated by the date they paid.

Anyone understand this? I know it's hard to explain but basically I need excel to make reports of who paid each month and how much, but I can't get excel to write this info or read it from the list.

Please help thanks

I know it's possible I just can't seem to get it right, like totaling it all and shit and using if statements to match who paid on the same day isn't hard, getting excel to print the associated data is hard as FUCK. Reminds me a bit of Enums in my java class, half tempted to just make a java program that reads csv's and prints the data directly

When was the last time you used a real desktop application that wasn't your web browser?

How does it feel knowing that all future software projects will be written as webapps that run in your browser or in a chromium container?
Are you rushing to update your skills and keep up with the webdevs now jumping to applications development, or are you gonna get left in the dust?

Haven't seen an SBCG thread here in a long time. Does anyone have a link to an updated version of that SBC comparison spreadsheet?
Also, can anyone recommend a good alternative to the Raspberry Pi? ODROID C2 is the only one that seems worth it but the company producing them doesn't seem very stable.

Can I get some help here?

Trying to dispose of two hard drives with bad sectors, but wanted to wipe them beforehand.

Booted into a Linux live distro ubuntu gnome, and did the DD command to write a bunch of zeros. But apparently, it stopped because it couldn't write data to the bad sectors and aborted the task.

How to force it to write zeros to the rest of the disk even if it encounters bad sectors?

Is there something better?

Also, what exactly is secure erase? can it be used on hard drives? Is it better than filling the disk with zeros?

Also someone said dban is deprecated in the current year because it was meant to be used on older technology such as floppy drives. Is it true?

>>
>>61064515
Whoever said that about DBAN is fucking retarded. Wiping it with zeroes is too clean and should only be done as a final step -- being that clean means that it's easier for an "enemy" to deal with.

Also, read the man page on dd. There's an option, "noerror", that continues after reading a bad sector.
>>
>>61064191
DD is fine for non-SSD drives. Use noerror if you've got bad sectors. And use if=/dev/urandom instead of /dev/zero, since the former would make it more difficult to find any remaining data than the latter. DBAN is for lazy people or those that can't into Linux. It's a smaller download and easier to run. It pretty much just runs DD in the background anyway. Same shit.

ATA Secure Erase uses commands built-into the drive firmware. It'll try to write to remapped sectors and everything. This is really what you should be using. Especially if you're wiping an SSD, since those don't write consecutively across the drive like old HDDs do, so you'd just end up fucking them up.

Why would one get a Surface, if for the same price you could get real tablet experience (iPad) + a REAL laptop experience?

> inb4 are you poor
That's not the point, the surface is literal shit for it's price.

Jesus Christ, you unironically use the two worst operating systems? You should be using a MacBook Air for notes and other day to day work, a phone that runs Lineage OS, and a desktop with Linux. Tablets are retard toys.

Alright, I got the pixel a few months ago, this is the fourth one I've had and with each one about a month in the front speaker and microphone have just given out
I've got it replaced each time because it's a "factory error", yet yesterday it started again. Not sure if it's me its me or I'm just incredibly unlucky
Anyone have this problem?

I feel you. I could easyly strap a smartphone one my lower arm and pretend but it's simply not the real thing with fucking android.

I looked in varous related hardware, mostly open hardware. I finally got a clue on GPIO and how they could be used for buttons and battery indicator.

The (touch) display wasn't the problem since the beginning. while there are some things to watch out whenever the connector and power fits the boards for example.

The very biggest problem is still there isn't a open source touch screen interface avaible for linux.

Since they axed OPIE and GPE, developers everywhere are hell bend on NOT bringing a usable touch interface for Linux.

It's already beyond the level of a conspiracy.
>>
>>61064368
Unless the pages are accurate and this has a touchscreen in it, I'm going to have to skip.
I can't find better than a 720p rated in this format,
For the case I was planning on a silicone mold from carved polystyrene then recast it in resin.
Buttons would go to momentary switches rigged to a concealed Aruino Micro with a Bluetooth on the TX RX ports and a small 3.3 volt lipol pack powering it all.
That way I can spend too much time in Process trying to make the interface look right and react to the buttons, then deploy it all to some passive SBC

I could just mint an Android app and do all that, thus having it all be driven quietly, but that's not fun.
Plus my intent is to use the HDMI cable as part of the suit stitching, so its kind of spoken for already.

I'm just wanting to know which I should get.

the 2k is 185 USd
1080 p is 151 USD

Is there an issue if I get the 1440 p and scale it down to 1080p or would any output device just autoscale and induce some artifacting if over the specs?
I am using an UDOO X86 Ultra
