Post simple tips/tricks you should have known about but didn't.

I didn't know you can use your mouse/trackpad in most programs to select by word instead of characters.

Instead of clicking in front of a word and dragging over it and any other words you want to select, you can double click in the middle of a word, continue to hold down the left mouse button and drag and select other words. This way you don't have to be precise with where you start selecting. This is especially useful for laptops when using a trackpad. Also you can triple click and select a whole paragraph.

Does anyone have experience with the Asus G20 ?

I like how compact it is but I worry that means it will have heat issues. Inb4 build your own, that is not an option for me.

DSL was the first Linux distro I ever used -- entirely because it was so small, and I only had a (mostly full) 10GB hard drive when I finally got high speed internet and could download a distro at all

awful as a day-to-day system, but just really neat

I have tried interleaving two video clips in avisynth for easier video comparison, however have come across a couple things that confuse me.

Why isn't the length of output video the combined length of both videos? When loading the script into MPC, the time reflects that of a single video, even though frames are indeed interleaved. I was under the impression that since frames are interleaved, the video duration gets extended too as frames are effectively doubled. Is this not the case or is MPC just having a visual bug?

Also, is there any way to mark each video clip so that when interleaved and traversing through frames I know which frame belongs to what video?

Now that CPU's are finally about to get competitive again, this is a good chance to put pressure for opening up the IME and PSP source codes, to allow librebooting on newer machines.

Thoughts?

I've been hearing AMD might, but now they probably suspect they are about to trounce intel so they might now see any reason to..but intel who may be worried now might do it.

>>
They're not opening up IME you fucking idiot, they simply can't because it has third party IP.

better just switch to an architecture without such a component, like some high end MIPS router processors or PPC

If you're a depressed nerd who fall for "free and open source software" propaganda pieces to fill the void in your heart and use inferior hobbyist software like F-droid over the obvious choice (the default Playstore), you should know that you're exposing your devices to a huge security risk.

It turns out that the F-droid repository is largely unmaintained. You're likely using outdated, flawed, broken versions of applications for which there are recent updates on the Google Playstore.

I'll use an app that is a symbol of "free software" itself as an example: VLC.

People who aren't manipulated by suspicious ideologies and kept the Playstore on their devices are enjoying the version 2.0.6 right now.

The most recent version on F-droid, without further comments: still 1.9.0, released over a year ago.

And this is a major freetard app. If you pay attention to the release dates of other random applications, you'll learn that some have stopped receiving updates on F-droid YEARS ago - while still being actively developed and published on the Playstore.

Is there any compare between userjs manager?
Greasemonkey/tampermonkey/violet monkey.
Was using greasemonkey up until now, and thinking of switching to something different. Is there any point?

I'm on beta 55 Violentmonkey is better at handling scrips than tampermonkey and it's MIT licensed.
Greasemonkey is better than others but there is no webext version and won't be in near future so it's not relevant currently. Also they are going to use code of Violentmonkey to make Greasemonkey v4.0

To answer, some are more "future proof" and some handle scrips better, and I mean tampermonkey refuses to run my scrips while other 2 run it just fine. If you're on old firefox stay on greasemonkey if it works.

>>61064704
Greasemonkey is XUL-based which is a legacy technology for extensions, while Tampermonkey and Violentmonkey both use the newer WebExtensions, which are cross-browser and are both no-restart and compatible with e10s multiprocess.

Firefox 57, which will be WebExtensions from here on out, will not support Greasemonkey or any other legacy XUL-based extension.
