It's time we all faced the facts, moot has no skills or abilities whatsoever
The only reason he was able to make a successful website is completely by chance
This is why he's in hot water at Google, he is literally Big Head, he adds nothing to the team
Is there a chance that PS5/Xtwo will beat a Ryzen 7 1700 16GB of Ram and a GTX 1080 if the consoles will cost $399 and release ~2020?
>>61091737
Are you asking because you're concerned with "futureproofing" your PC?
>>61091737
If they stick with AMD, it's going to be a custom Raven Ridge APU with Ryzen/Vega. So probably not.
>>61091768
A bit
Are we in the future yet?
>>61091714
You're always one second away from the future.
All depends on your point of view, man.

right
Can /g/ build a PC equivalent for $499?
If its actually $499 out the window, I really doubt its true performance of 4K60fps
>>61091664
One Xbox One X is losing $$$. I can build a $1000 PC that someone can sell for $499. Easy.
>>61091783
the 4k/60fps is only confirmed for Forza.
a ton of games are already being reported running at fake 4k at 30fps, so a PC will shit on it if you're looking for 60fps
Whats the point when everyone can see source code of your website and literally download and copy everything?
How do you webs cope with this?
you cant see the back end, dummy
plus not much you can do with just the front end if you were to "steal" it
>>61091660
I wish this were the case with PHP.
>>61091691
senpai i literally saw php files bcs of an error in some.php file reported in console of dev tools. I mean i know errors do not happen constantly but why do they even give the option to view the php file even if there is an error

That's quite a lot, actually
Is it feasible to crack a keepass2.x file?

No.
I doubt it unless you have hardware from the future.
Read SICP or HtDP anon!
>>61091404
I think that Programming in Scheme by Eisenberg should be considered a prerequisite for SICP
>>61091766
That's a big waste of time. If you can't into SICP just go HtDP

If you want help:
>State the budget for your build (and country if not the USA).
>List games/software you use often, as well as your monitor resolution + refresh rate.
>Clarify your goal for build improvements: lower price or improved specs?
CPUs:
>G4560 - Budget builds (<$500)
>R5 1400 - if you can't afford better or specifically need 8 threads but not a very powerful CPU
>R5 1500x - Buy the 1600 instead
>R5 1600 - Best value for higher fps gaming / mixed usage; Get a 1600x if you don't OC
>i7-7700k - Only for 144hz
>R7/Xeon/Threadripper - Compute/Multitask/mixed use; Not required for just gaming.
GPUs:
>Integrated CPU Graphics - Desktop stuff and very light games
>RX 560 and GTX 1050Ti - Lower end budget cards, drop settings on newer games
>RX570 - 1080p@60hz at high, running most maxed older games at 144+hz.
>RX580 and GTX1060 6GB - 1080p@60hz maxed, 1440p@60hz at lower settings; Go for the RX580 if you can.
>GTX 1070 - 1080p@144hz /1440p@60hz at high
>GTX 1080 - 1080p@144hz / 1440p@60hz maxed, 4k@60hz in a few games; Probably the highest end card you need for 1080p/1440p.
>GTX 1080 Ti - 1440p@144 hz and 4k@60hz maxed/high in many games; You're kind of going overboard with this one.
>AMD GPUs are suffering a lack of stock and Nvidia a rise in price thanks to miners
RAM:
>Check your Mobo QVL before buying any RAM
>Ryzen benefits from high speed RAM
General:
>ALWAYS LOOK AT PRODUCT REVIEWS!
>Always consider an SSD. Try buying a large SSD for what you'd pay for your SSD+HDD combined, and add a HDD later
>NVMe SSDs aren't for a faster OS boot, they're for productivity/scratch disk/VMs. NVMe and M.2 are not the same thing, M.2 is a form factor.
>The Ryzen lineup comes with exceptionally good stock coolers. (with the exception of the 1600X) consider using them over any sub 35USD cooler.

I bought a Blu-Ray Boxset from Japan and I'm having trouble trying to remove the AACS protection. Since I do not have a Blu-Ray drive I copied each disc to an ISO file using my PS3 with CFW then transferred the ISO files over to my PC using FTP.
I have tried a pirated version of Anydvd HD and Makemkv but neither works.
Anydvd HD: "ERROR processing Blu-ray disc!"
Makemkv: "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted"
Does anyone have any ideas?
>>61091216
Did you try reading the makemkv faq?
Piracy doesn't have this problem.
>>61091308
>makemkv faq
MakeMKV can process an incomplete blu-ray disc backup as long as volume key is known for that disc. Incomplete backup is an encrypted backup without a volume id part, the most common case being ISO image from PS3 system or files plainly copied from blu-ray disc. In order to open such disc a disc-specific key must be supplied to MakeMKV via text file in AACS key directory. First, you need to set an "AACS keys directory" in preferences; then you need to put a keyfile with disc for your key into this directory. MakeMKV will scan all files in this directory and will accept key in any format. Group of volunteers maintains a decent key database at http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=120988 . Be sure to download the latest keydb_bd file and unpack it into your AACS keys directory.
Woah I didn't expect it to actually mention people copying ISOs from a PS3, interesting.
>>61091358
I bought the BDs solely because No one uploaded them for 4 years anon and wanted to make my own encode to upload.

when will we get our time to shine?
Over the summer I'm supposed to learn java and complete some assignments from our text book by September, which is the month where my first day of CS resides. I have almost minimal programming experience. Am I fucked?
>>61090991
Ah, yes, Java, the only programming language that is harder to learn than assembler code, especially over the span of a few months
Yep, you're totally fucked :^)
>>61091020
I heard it wasn't hard :( There's a code academy for it, is that any good?

As long as you actually do the fucking work and don't slack off, you're fine.
What's the current status of GPU drivers on Linux? When I looked a few years ago, AMD drivers sucked while Nvidia's proprietary ones were pretty good. I'm debating whether I should upgrade my old 750TI to a 1070 or RX580.
In this same boat, have my eye on a 580 when/if they come back in stock...have heard AMD drivers on Linux have improved significantly compared to a few years ago but no direct experience
how would a RX vega perform on linux?
tfw new smartphone has 8gb of ddr4 ram.

>Android does not paginate, so each app has a memory cap.
>You are going to be able to use 100-200MB max per app if they are compiled with the largeHeap flag. Normal ones 40-60 MB aprox.
>inb4 you will open 80 apps, the OS will allow you to open at most 3-5 RAM-hungry apps, and a few more normal apps. Any additional app you open, the OS will force-close others.
Enjoy your 7 GB of wasted RAM.
