Basic $100 serta. Its alright but I'm also in the market for something decent, don't even know a good price point to start looking. Why the fuck aren't there more threads like that?

fat fucks
I was lucky enough to pick up a Steelcase Gesture for $300 on craigslist from some rich people who were moving. You pretty much aren't going to find that price anywhere, but I will say in about three weeks of use it's proven to be fantastic.
I tried the Steelcase Leap as well and those are pretty easy to find used for cheap and that one may have been even more comfy.

>Carrying around what appears to be a 14dBdi antenna with you everyday
A 5dBi antenna on an Alfa adapter would be more practical for a true EDC.
>>61062908
Any recommendations?
>>61063016
Alfa AWUSO36NH
It's small and simple and very reliable. I think it comes with a 5dBi antenna but you can always attach a different one if you need longer range. I don't think it supports the 5GHz band frequency but if you're doing long distance work then you'll need to stick to the 2.4GHz band anyways.
Did I fuck up?
I bought a Fire 8, mostly for reading.
It's great for reading, emulation, but it lags pretty bad if I use it for web browsing.
Apparently cannot be rooted yet and auto updates if connected to the internet.
Chances are it's just your browser. Try a different one.
>>61127751
FF won't download, Chrome lags.
What are my other options?
Are Dolphin and Opera still relevant?

Fuck outa this board animefag. This is a technology board, not your pedo cartoon girl cartel.
what do you use to download music from YouTube?
I had been using clipconverter and they nerfed it so you cant do it to music anymore. Also same with YTMP3 add on for browser...

i cant help it, this is the new browser bar add-ons from back in the day , lads
>Wife asks if i can scan her logs for school and email them to her teacher
>I scan roughly 20 pages and like any sane person i compress the files with winrar and email them
Next day wife gets email from teacher says she cant open the email i sent, asks that the files be attached individuality
Im tellin ya guys... fuckin REEEEEEEEE x10
So because a COLLEGE PROFESSOR cant unzip a compressed file that is designed to make sending multiple files easier, now weve got to actually go BACKWARDS and do it in a most inefficient manor because a COLLEGE PROFESSOR doesnt have the most basic computer knowledge. I mean FFS sending comprrssed files over email is STANDARD SHIT
Yeah the professor is a woman and she probably uses an Iphone id bet.

Not sure if I'm allowed to tell this one so I'll word it carefully.
Essentially work with very limited data connection to satellite, will hide actual numbers to play it safe.
Takes very roughly an hour to upload a typical 1 Megabyte document.
This area of work requires very limited exposure to satellite as staying hidden is of utmost importance.
Used highest compression available (winzip) as outlined in procedure prior to encryption.
Upload file to intended location then disappear.
Many days later receive word that they tried to decrypt, but couldn't read the document.
I'm unable to communicate for at least a month due to area.
A few days later receive word that they managed to unzip the file and they understand all.
Good days man.
or is this a super sale and I should get more of AMD, like 15,500 shares now

Fuck off back to /v/, retard.
>try to order some airplane tickets
>site is laggy and slow and the fan on my thinkpad x60 goes like crazy
>click on a link like javascrip::__doPostbackNigger()
>nothing happens
there is literally no reason to use javascript when making a site where people can order some plane tickets, HTML 5 has some nice date selection classes, you could even use HTML 4.01 STRICT and just validate the date server side, but no, an army of retarded hipsters just have to use NODE.JS and all kinds of useless frameworks in order to make themselves feel good
javascript hate thread?
javascript hate thread
>no reason to use javascript when making a site where you buy things
Every laugh at this retarded NEET who doesn't know anything about how web design works. Laugh at him! AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
Pathetic
Node.js is a server-side framework so that isn't the problem, but your point about JS frameworks ruining the web is relevant. I run Xubuntu on a 2009 Athlon II X2 and many popular websites barely function, and it's even worse on lower powered, brand new all-in-one PCs in the 200-300 dollar range which are very popular with consumers right now. Angular.js is especially culpable in the destruction of the web. With that said, plain JavaScript without frameworks is actually incredibly fast on modern browsers even on slow computers but no one ever codes in it anymore.
I was chatting shit with my boss the other day and he was thinking that some sites might go back to plain HTML because it'll be super quick.
Back in the old days when internet wasn't so fast for everyone, the SPAs were good because you'd load up and be able to do everything. Now, everyone gets pissed off when each page has to load 30 meg of javascript to do their shit that no one really cares about. Many popular web shops are especially bad about this.

vanillaJS is pretty underrated desu
Why all those major corporations are always hacked?
They never install fixes, firewalls and IT infrastructure?

There's cowboy ICT managed service companies out there. You'd be surprised by the level of incompetence.

Is social media presence necessary to make buck in the IT fields? be it web programming, design, cybersecurity etc
>>61125347
Not necessarily, but it will make you more well known for job recruiters.

would a github/linkedIn profile suffice? I really hate facebook and want to delete mine, but I've heard many employers do a background check on things such as facebook. Theres not a lot to see in my account, but many people say a lack of it could raise suspicion

I recently installed Firefox to replace Chrome.
What are some extensions that help ensure my privacy? I use https everywhere, adblock plus, ghostery and duckduckgo as a search engine.
> https everywhere, adblock plus, ghostery
Remove this shit and install Smart HTTPS, uBlock origin, uMatrix and Decentraleyes instead.
>duckduckgo as a search engine
DuckDuckGo is a botnet, use startpage instead.
>>61124689
You don't even know what a botnet is.
Another question, is it normal for firefox to be laggy as fuck, like when I open new tabs? This didn't happen under chrome.
Just bought one of these, arriving soon. What distro should Install? I was thinking Void.
