are you talking about vega?
>>61136585
That's pretty disingenuous there.
It was 105c on the back of the PCB under the VRMs (probably ~120c for the VRMs)
The VRMs however were never water cooled.
if you're gonna give intel shit, at least do it honestly.
another intel hate thread...
Looking for a lightweight system to run FreeBSD (Because fuck systemd). Are Thinkpads well supported, eg. graphics and wifi? If not, can you recommend something else? Will mostly be working in the shell, so high spec not necessary. Also, are there ANY laptops on the market without proprietary blobs and backdoors? I'm not a regular here so pls no bully.
>>61136568
openbsd works better with laptops
>>61136588
>openbsd
Holy shit, this website looks like it was made in the 90s
>>61136568
If you are going to reformat and install Freebsd, the blobs and backdoors will be deleted. So, buy the buggiest, most bloated piece of shit out there. I'm running it on a fucking Lenovo Celeron and it's fine, if a little laggy.
What do you do with your hardware when you're not playing games?
I usually just mine something profitable but e lectricity prices have gone up where I live recently, can't find anything decent, so I'm mining chancoin. Hope it goes somewhere.

Anyone else here learning to program because they're a friendless NEET loser and have literally nothing else to do all day? Making lines on a screen move the way I wanted them to makes me feel accomplished for a few minutes before I remember how much of a useless failure i am and how much of a joke my life is. Also it helps me sleep at night because at least i was """productive""". I mean, I was gonna sit there staring at a computer screen all day anyways, at least this way i'm making some kind of progress, right? Right?

TL;DR any and all X299 motherboards seem to suck. Specifically the VRMs and they non existent cooling.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7BqAjC4ZCc
>>61135930
>TL;DR any and all X299 motherboards seem to suck.
And yet it's one person reporting a problem.
But let me remind you, when the same thing happened (one person) with the RX 480 killing motherboards, you were quick to point out that it was only one case and totally nothing wrong with AMD.
So does the road go both ways, or is it just okay when AMD does it?
>>61136006
>you were quick to point out
Absolutely not. That was a fucking blunder and a half, and it was great it was reported.
Clearly someone needs to say something, so these things can be fixed.
Not everyone here is a partisan fucking 12yo
>>61136006
You think Der Bauer is shilling?
Because I think he's just trying to go to work.
For the store. That sells X299 motherboards.
I never setup Google's DNS at all or any google bullshit on my computer but it's showing up for some reason in Wireshark.
(I removed all the other entries that were not important and I also removed the IPs)
Is your browser open?
>>61135878
There was a problem with systemd calling google DNS, do you have the systemd-resolver or whatever is called enabled?
So configure it to use your own self-hosted DNS.
