install gentoo
Or just any GNU/Linux distro
Is it possible to make a home server for Video Production work (storage for very large 4K ProRes files) with these 36 HDD's? They are only 500GB each. Meaning in RAID 5 it will only add up to 9TB.
What would you do if you had these drives?
hmmmm
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/4U-Supermicro-36-Bay-Storage-Server-AMD-16-Core-HW-Raid-5-Rail-Up-to-512GB-DDR3-/132240394955?hash=item1eca244acb:g:-OsAAOSwCmZZTA5i
Do you really need durable long term storage? Why not just make it RAID 0? Or make some of the drives RAID 0 for work space and some RAID 5 for long term storage?
>>61172922
Install FreeNAS or ZFS on linux and plug them into your jbod.
Run a RAID 10. You're using a shitload of drives that could potentially break down so you want the best resilver times and best fault tolerance.
are there any decent gaming laptop out there that does not make me look like a 9 yo kid with autism?

H-Has anyone here had to go through something like this before? My workplace is mostly men, the bulldyke they hired for 35k a year to write blog posts can't get me fired, right?
pack your privilege, cis scum
Looks like you're being replaced for some more culturally aware talent.
Pretend that you are trans and introduce yourself with your own set of pronouns.
Just found this on the curb in my neighborhood. Boots up well. Barely anything on it. How well will this run games? Thinking like Skyrim, ps1/2 emulators and Myst

Come on Daquarianterone, is that the best you could do?
S-so guys, I've been in a quest for actually good comfortable inears similar to Bose earbuds that don't actually take your ear virginity. Pic related

Get custom tips, fag.
>>61172483
Kinda a poorfag that stuck in the entry level of "high quality" headphones
If you can afford those earbuds you're not a poorfag (source: I own a pair, they're fantastic if you're listening in a quiet office for longer periods).
Now, as for comfortable IEMs, you're pretty much on your own. This shit is subjective and depends on the shape and size of your ears to an extent. Note that you might find a comfortable pair like the image you posted, but then they might be shit to wear if you're on the train or in a noisy place, because they forego the ability to block outside noise in favour of maximum comfort.
Outside of those I use Monoprice earbuds (I think they only sell #9927 now). Mostly I use them because they're surprisingly light and the cord isn't plastic / rubber. I have lost many headphones to the bitter Canadian winter, but these work exceptionally well in the cold.
Explain this, macfags

Need some recommendation, i want to clean install and dual boot win 7 and linux (elementary os) after formatting and repartitioning my hard drive...how should i move ahead?
>>61172319
install windows first. it's a lot easier to install linux afterwards since windows makes it hard to install in a dual boot setup
Why am I talking to a dog.
>>61172348
I second this.
Be sure to check all this UEFI business. If you don't know what i mean, gather advice specificly on this topic, it's a bit messy and it can ruin ur dual boot.
In /csg/, we discuss the cheap shit you see on Gearbest, Taobao, AliExpress, Banggood, eBay and similar sites.

Any anons got recommendations for chink kitchen knives?

Too small battery for snapdragon 820.
I built my last one but I really don't wanna do that again. Obviously I want a gaming PC but there are so many pre-building companies that I dunno which one would be the best bang for the buck. I'm looking to spend around 1000 - 1500 on this, any suggested pre-builders? I was looking at Maingear but I dunno how good their shit it.

CyberPowerPC
>>61172273
I can't imagine being to lazy to build a pc and having to buy a prebuilt instead. Putting a pc together is literally like putting lego together. Maybe you should reevaluate your decisions instead of spending more money on dumb shit.
Is ergonomy just a meme?
Of course it is. My hands have never felt sore from prolonged typing or mouse operation. Your hands are out of shape anons.
>>61172206
Probably. I mean, I imagine that you can be fast once you get used to that style. However, I can bet you that keyboard is expensive compared to the usual qwerty layout. Probably not commonplace either.
>>61172206
Ergonomics is by far a meme. Good chairs, good grips on things and good controllers are a god send.
This keyboard however? Unless you suffer from pain in your hands, it's a meme.

I have a 2,500 sq ft house and want to increase the speed and range of my internet's wireless throughout it, within a budget of around $75.
My biggest problem is that my current extender is hardly reaching some parts of the house and is very unreliable, and the Xfinity router/modem doesn't usually reach the areas I need it to.
Currently using:
Xfinity Arris TG1682G (Modem/Router)
NETGEAR N300, Essentials Edition EX2700 (Extender)
Please help!
