Should I spend the extra dough on a 1080, even though I only do 1080p gaming? Would love to get the 1080 and be set for years with all it's power, but since I only stick to 1080p will it be even worth it or should I just snag a 1070 instead?

I bought a Asus Strix 1080ti OC edition to replace a reference GTC Geforce Titan X in a system that runs three Benq 1080p 120hz monitors. The things is basically silent pushing those monitors (one for gaming, two for other crap) in any use case that I have thrown at it (simultaneous gaming at custom (near ultra) settings while watching videos). Its paired with a 6700k, neither have been OC (other than the factory OC on the card). Very happy with my purchase. May be a couple years before Volta or whatever have the horsepower to drive 4k at the specs I want.
If you can afford it, go for it. I run a 1080 in 1080p and it's great. It's total overkill at this point, but it's nice to be able to completely max every game, AA settings included, and not worry about it dipping below my monitor's 75hz refresh
I'd wait for Navi.
Why aren't we talking about this?

WHY DO I NOT JUST STICK WITH THE LOGITECH B100
WHY
I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY I KEEP TRYING OUT OTHER MICE THEY NEVER WORK BETTER ANYWAY
LITERALLY 24 bucks thrown out of the window again for NO reason

mouse thread? mouse thread!

>>61230013
mate, I can only suggest that you buy the Logitech B100. I remember now the reason why I wanted to try a new one, their latest model was inferior to the old ones because it didnt work anymore on any surfaces. That seriously made it worse, but after 5 other mice they ALL suck more in various departements.
I just cant believe that I spent 20 bucks on a microshit mouse AND AMAZON WOULD HAVE EVEN HAD IT AT 10 BUCKS
WTF
I am now ordering the B100 again, i havent found a reliable keyboard yet that is cheap and comfortable. I mean they are all fairly similar. I like the lenovo old style one I guess
>>61230063
I just remember, we order these for work, they do great!
Pro of mx310 is the navigation buttons on the side and the taskswitch button in the middle.
If only the mx310 was still in production, had to buy last couple ones off ebay.

Okay so I frequent other boards here, and have lurked here for some time. I’m a complete moron compared to you guys in regards to technology. I have no desire to make it a career I just want to learn about computing and technology.
> I know maybe people don’t have time and enjoy just fucking people off.
But I want to know and learn about.
How computer work
software
Information technology in general
code/programming
Hacking
Encryption
Web applications
Data bases
Servers
Privacy
Dark web
So I know that is an absurd and all encompassing amount of information to learn and interests.
> So my question is where should I start. What would you advise me to look at, watch and read? with specific examples any books you would recommend.
Anyone start on a similar journey?
I know the is 4chan but I don’t really know who else to ask lol.
So any help would be greatly appreciated.

wikipedia is preddy goood. you could literally type in those subjects in the search bar and learn quite a lot and have a lot of links to read through just doing that.
>>61229875
And then I assume that would lead to further sources of information?
It lasted me about a year, and now I need a better alternative

Why don't phones have IR blasters anymore? I've been thinking about replacing my S6 later this year, but the only reasonably sized new phone to have one is the Honor 9.

>Electronic devices should be robust and easily repairable -- and laws should encourage or enforce this, members of the European Parliament said Tuesday.
>They want to end the planned obsolescence of consumer electronics devices and software -- which are often also used as business tools thanks to the consumerization of IT.
