So I found out that my 8 year old Toshiba laptop had a 64bit processor after all, but my 4gig ram was limited to 3 because of stupid Windows, so I'm trying to upgrade from Win10 32bit to 64bit. The problem is, fucking windows 10 boot(or whatever it is called) is having priority over my usb with Win10 64 properly flashed, no matter what I fucking do. I don't know if the problem is Windows side or Bios side, because like I said, this shit is 8 years old and I think Toshiba dropped support. I couldn't find an option to change the boot to CSM/Legacy. I am currently downloading Ubuntu as a last resort, because maybe the usb was yielding priority to HDD boot because it was the same Windows.
Anyways, I need your help. I'm losing my mind.
Ubuntu should work with uefi , which you probably have, set USB as first boot priority, now fuck off.
spam f12 while booting and hopefully you get into boot selection.
or try turning off secure boot in the bios
>>61539125
Did that. There is no option for secure boot or CSM/Legacy in my bios. Only option that could possibly affect this was the fast boot, which I turned off. Hopefully I was retarded an I fucked up somewhere with the usb.
I broke that yellow thing on my mother's finkpad. The one that connects the right side of the laptop to the motherboard. Is it replaceable?
is this what poverty looks like?

Don't bully him, anon.
>>61538404
If you have to ask you're probably not able to replace it.

There is no Ctrl Button on Phone you bakas.
So, basically everyone does the work and Stallman sits there mumbling about nothing?
He's the ideas guy of FOSS software. You better respect him kid, nothing would excist without him.
He doesn't programme anymore, except for small emacs updates.
>>61538376
I don't know, man. I think you guys give him too much credit.
There are many many others like Raymond or Linus that have a more sane and concise philosophy about the Free or Open software.
Wizards assemble !
Advanced users of GNU/Linux (and I mean advanced), remember to try Source Mage GNU/Linux. True source-based distribution, and (in contrast with Gentoo and Arch) is:
Free from obfuscated and pre-configured code.
Fully committed to GPL, uses only free software (as in freedom) in their main package.
With even the documentation licensed as FDL.
Without 3rd party patches, sensible defaults or masked packages.
Doesn't need obfuscated python libraries, only bash.
Uses clean dependencies as they came from upstream developers, which by the same provides instant updates.
Can heal broken installs.
Can also use flags.
Do you like Arch Linux's AUR? Do you like Gentoo's portage (or ports-like) package manager? With SMGL's "sorcery" you get all that. Making new spells (packages) not found in the grimoire (repository) is easy http://sourcemage.org/Spell/Book

Is this the new shill thread?

Is that a problem sir ?
>>61538303
Never tried. Maybe some day.

But, how about freedom?
why does /g/ hate pajeets? they work for as 3x as less wage and are just as good as developers in the sillycon valley
>>61538119
>just as good as developers in the sillycon valley
I know pajeets are the same tier as burger cucks but that's not a big achievement
>>61538119
I just hate when I need to call a company and get Pajeet who can barely understand English.
>>61538183
This is it. I don't mind Indians. I mind when it takes me 5x longer to do something because I'm dealing with a language barrier.
Also, Bangladeshi girls are the cutest.
How will microcuckolds ever recover from this one?

Even the people that work at Microsoft use either Linux or Mac. It says a lot when the people creating the OS refuse to use it.
>>61538147
I highly doubt this is true but it would be cool otherwise.
IT'S OVER! M$ IS BANKRUPT AND FINISHED!
Granted I haven't used it for more than a day, but it's breddy good so far.

Some readings feels like a gust of wind running through your mind, in and out by unsuspected windows, opening new ways for light to come in, making you breath again like you forgot how to.
Programming of the metal-slaves is a thing of the Dark, meant to enslave us.
But it is for us Humans to master it and make beauty out of it.
I would learn coding with examples, so here is my request :
Have you ever been moved by a bit of code ?
Can you lead me to some simplistic and efficient and somehow Inspired code ?
Also, I have heard about the C language to be more 'bare-metal' than many others.
I feel less interested by languages that runs into a Virtual Machine like Java or an interpreter like Bash.
I suppose that no one ever code directly on Assembler, that is not the question.
But I'm interested to know more about the 'bare-metal' quality of some languages and which exactly will, coupled with the adequate theory, grant me a profund understanding of the machine.

I want to strangle people who think code looks like some dumb quote instead of a beautiful formula.
