I'm probably worth around 40 average developers. Just need to get a modeler and I'm set.

/g/entlemen, I'm trying to upgrade 8gb of RAM to 16gb, it has 2 slots in total, one 8gb stick already in there, and an open one which I put the new 8gb stick into, it clicks right and seems well seated but it's not detecting it at all, not in BIOS or anywhere. Swapping slots it only detects the original 8gb and if I use the new RAM only it won't start up at all. However, it works on my friend's computer.
So both slots work, the new RAM works on other computers, all I can think of is this in the manual. Did HP just cuck me out of being able to simply upgrade RAM? Is there a way around this?
>>62472735
you need matching ram sticks for your shitty hp laptop.
>>62472868
Yeah, no, that's bullshit.
Posted from my HP laptop with non matching ram sticks.
My ssd went from 9 free gb left with the bar in the red to 27 gb free space and bar went back to blue. Haven't deleted anything. Nothing new in D drive. wtf is happening?
>>62472647
Page file cleared up probably.
>>62472647
Maybe it deleted a Windows update/upgrade.

must be one of those tesla SSDs where they let you use more of your hard drive space during hurricanes
Any good email services (servers)? I am feeling like using gmail is not a good idea anymore.

Despite Google's potential for shenanigans...
Gmail, as a service, is the absolute best service available. Nothing really comes close in terms of features and reliability
recently installed Ubuntu on this shitty old Lenovo with an Intel i2 T5800.
originally running Vista, support for it ended early this year.
after an hour of using, most of the shit seems idiotproof, but are there things about the OS that the average person would miss, quirks and such.
Did I fuck up, for choosing Ubuntu. should I just pirate win7?
>>62472232
Ubuntu is fine for babbys first linux, but there are definitely more distros out there that were made to run on lower-end hardware like that.
Check out lubuntu or xubuntu for a faster idiot-proof experience.
>>62472232
Ubuntu is perfectly fine. Don't listen to the Gentoo and Arch shills who say "kek, brainlet" if you don't use those two. If you've never used Linux before then Ubuntu is perfect. It will give you everything you need to start and also a good platform to customize and learn on. Just learn the basics like using the command line to install programs; create, move copy and delete files/directories; use programs in the terminal with commands instead of with a GUI.
But look at different desktop environments since Unity is going to abandon Unity in the 18.04 LTR. Personally I like XFCE and MATE. But I used Lubuntu with LXDE and it's very quick and snappy, good for older hardware.
Why is this so common, why is this acceptable?
I'm shopping around for a laptop and every time I see half size arrow keys I drop it from my list
Because they're trying to emphasize how much they want you to go Home and End yourself.
idk why they make those giant left and right keys, just make them all the same size
>>62472163
Anon, I'm going to post these half size arrow keys everyday until you like them.
If I had a huge amount of Amorphous silicon like the type that calculators have. Would I be able to solar power bigger things? Like if it was the size of a building's roof, or even a size of half a twin bed.
>>62472076
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amorphous_silicon#Photovoltaics
No.
>>62472076
Sure. You're essentially describing a solar panel. Are you planning to 'recycle' a bunch of calculators and make a shitty ghetto solar panel?
>tfw you keep progressing in skill and are better than 90% of the competition but you still feel like a retard
how do you deal with these feels that seem to trend in tech?

When's the magical driver update that fixes everything supposed to arrive again?
Maybe six months, maybe a year, maybe when Navi launches. Maybe when I fucking feel like posting the drivers on github just to fuck with people.
>>62471652
Whenever 17.320 hits the public drivers.
>>62471652
RTG is one meme shy of being erased from the timline... They better deliver on what they promised and I'm not talking about AMD proper releasing a proper APU. I'm speaking about their full fledged GPUs and their inability time and time again to publish functional drivers and dev tools yet promising the world above their competition.
is it possible to hack someone by just knowing their IP?
Yes.

I believe that Closed Shell Systems (CSSY) are self-contained data servers on a LAN network that aren’t connected to the internet. The data held on them are, of course, kept a secret and only a few people can have access to it. I believe that there are CSSY’s around the world, and that they are holding illegal/classified information.
“Accessing” a CSSY would either mean gaining access to one through force or gaining trust to get into one of them.
(pic not related)
