How do you think Pokemon spawning works in this game? The first naive answer might be that they just keep a list of all active pokemon, but how huge would this list be? I'm thinking they might be using pseudo randomness with the current time + your location as the seed. This way they have an algorithm they can use at any time to answer "What pokemon are at (location) at (time and date)". What do you think?

What is the best smartphone I could get for around $100? My Nexus 5 keeps having problems reading my sim card and my first gen Moto G is slow af. Would a chinkphone be best bet? Something rootable would be nice, but not necessary.

Hello /g/, I start college in mid August and wanted help choosing a laptop. I will most likely buy it used, I just need a couple models to look into. I don't have a mac or windows preference but would like something that won't make me look super poor. I'm a Mech Eng major and would like to not have trouble running certain things for classes and stuff. Budget is $500

If you had a higher budget I would say Macbook Pro. You can get used 2013 Airs for about $400 on eBay, but as a Mech Engy it might not run CAD very well if you work with large or complex models. You could get a decent used Windows laptop for that amount, but I have no idea as to what brands to look out for.
