The transition from bulking to cutting is fucking torture and where most people give up. The mental battle is exhausting and requires a lot of discipline. Expect to have to say no a lot, expect people to question you when you explain your diet and expect people to try and convince you to cheat. You have to remain strong through this.

The whole experience of cutting is a big mental exercise of you vs your urges. The urge to indulge and binge will be familiar after a bulk so it'll be doubly difficult to begin with. Just remember that it does get easier and that the rewards are high. Persistence is key.

Just posted this in another thread, but may be more fitting here

I'll give you some unsual tips I picked up on the go. Used to play pro ball at 17, had a few pro MMA fights at 20, now owning my own startup and we just got a huge A round. Here is what I collected during all this time:

Put a bar in your doorway, do some every time you pass (grease the groove). Not just to get better at them, but you burn more fat, keep your weight in check (if you get too fat, your reps drop) and get huge lat and biceps gains. Huge lat and biceps also fill out any shirt greatly and make you look less fat.

1 solid meal a day (make it a huge ass salad with olive oil/eggs so you can get fiber) and fill out the rest with protein shakes.

>Caffeine pills instead of coffee

Way more predictable intake, you can control it easily, enable you to wake up early in the morning (set an alarm 30 mins earlier, pop a pill, go to sleep until second alarm. you'll wake up like a god). Also, no milk, butter, sugar and other shit that people put in coffee.

Lunch:
Chicken Chili (its about 500 a bowl)

In the turn of the 19th century they were experimenting with fasting for the morbidly obese. It worked phenomenally - no danger of death with proper vitamin supplementation - but people were losing tons of fat AND muscle.

They realized if you supplement a minimal amount of protein your body will spare your muscle mass for resources. Instead, you burn fat exclusively and at the fastest pace possible - any more weight lost would be skeletal muscle/organ tissue.

The gist of it is 1+ gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, a multivitamin, and 150 calories of fish oil/flaxseed oil. If you're interested, grab a copy of Lyle McDonald's Rapid Fat Loss Handbook.

The dude lays out the program for varying bodyweights. You can use this when you're morbidly obese - like I am (or was, at 6'3" I'm now just obese) - or if you're just overweight. You can even use this protocol to cut to sub 10% in half the time it would normally take you.

The best part is it stacks with all the other cutting tricks. Intermittant fasting, ECA stack, ALA, DNP, cold showers, yohimbine, you name it. I'm losing about 1.2 pounds a day - planning on adding in cold showers to get that brown-adipose tissue activation.
