I'm in the beginner weight training class although I'm not a beginner by normie-standards, but I consider myself one by /fit/-standards.

I did 315 for a triple because I hadn't deadlifted in a couple weeks and I kept my grip on it and didn't drop it but a group of guys were laughing a bit and said I was being really loud and it was like a giant walking.

Then the dadbod teacher got on my case saying dropping deadlifts like that (wasn't dropping) bends the bar. I said I never heard of something like that and it's dropping it on the squat rack rungs and he went "I have 20 more years of experience here than you"

I've made a terrible mistake, but I need the easy GPA booster.

I moved before Christmas tried to keep going to my old gym but it was too far, gym/leisure centre 10 minute walk from my door.

Do your shit and get out or come during a time when there is nobody in there. Instead like 5 people were waiting on this faggot to actually do their squats while he did situps and pretended he was Liu Kang in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. For example, I like to deadlift in our squat rack because below the pins is a basically a bumper that makes loading the bar up easy. I don't do my shit in there when the gym is full. I go to an empty space and use a barbell. Same way I don't use the dumbbells infront of the dumbbell rack.

Sometimes I see every bar racked with the wonkiest weights like 4 5kg plates and shit like that plus plates just all over the place and some guys actually move benches around the gym from room to room and take them with them and I saw a bench in the cardio area just sitting there and I was wondering what the story behind that bench was.

At first I tried to reorder weights when people clearly put fucking 1,25 kg plates where 20 kg plates are supossed to go but then I gave up but now PTs patrol the gym and rerack weights, they do a shitty job but I can't blame them because they probably have to do it 10 times in an hour.

The weirdest thing I saw was one guy seeing another guy move from the squat rack obviously to take a piss or something and with the intention to come back to lift and he runs to the rack and puts the bar on the safety bars and starts putting on like 3 plates and just does some shrugs for 10 reps with horrible motion and then leaves.
Also one guy putting a bench in front of the squat rack to put all his shit there and starting to do tilted pullups with his heels on the floor and foam on the bar. He then took some dumbells and started doing incline benchpresses with the dumbells and his legs in the air god bless his soul.

Crossfit as a whole wasn't too bad when it started. The main issue people had were that they were doing olympic lifts for time. Compound exercises like this are usually done for fairly low reps and at higher weight because it's a coordinated movement that has many physiological points of failure (i.e. nerve and muscles sharting out at multiple joints). The fact most crossfit gyms push their clients into doing more weight than they should and sacrificing proper form is a oneway ticket to fucking your shit up. That's why it started getting shit on by /fit/, but it continues because crossfit comes up with these really asinine and useless workouts on a consistent basis.

Yeah, like a 20kg steel is going to 'shatter' when it touches the floor.

I was so bemused that I simply responded 'alright then' and carried on. He still comes to the same gym and evils me out every time.
