My last PT test I scored a 278:
> pushups: 78
> sit-ups: 82
> 2 mile: 14:25
post your scores and workout routines
What should I do to get my run time down? I want to score 300+. Right now I could probably run a 6:45 mile, but I couldnt do that for 2.
Holy mother of god. I've packed on 30lbs since I ran my 3 mile PFT in 18:00 and I can still manage a 6:30 for 3 miles. How can someone not do that for 2 miles.
That's usually mon, wed, fri. Then I have a pretty general weightlifting routine on tues, thurs, sat. I run after weightlifting and swim after the routine in the pic.
> army pt test
You're right I don't know anything about that pussy shit
> tfw these guys know what's up
Yeah I'm sure you'd be carrying your weapon at the approved FM instructions after a grueling several hour patrol, meeting with the boy fucker tribal elder who wants money and drugs, and carrying 70+ of gear in full battle rattle day after day.
Fuck you. Ain't even mad. Just disappointed at your stupidity. Go back to /k/ arm chair kiddie.
I don't know shit about the PT test, so is that number the amount of pushups and situps done in a minute, or what?
When I cared I just ran a marathon workout I got from runnersworld and was running a 6:30 pace for my half-marathon. For pull-ups I was doing the "Recon Ron" program. Crunches came easily because I was a 6' 170 lbs DYEL. Now I'm 207 lbs and running again to at least get a 290 or above.
Bro. I slammed as much waffle house down as possible then went on 2-5 mile runs. The food baby simulated my core and hip flexors being wrecked from sit ups. Learned to push through the waho.
Two weeks of this brought my run time down a minute for my first 300 pt test.
A welder pretending to 'do shit'. Shut the fuck up pog, you weld. That is your god damn job. Don't pose like your a grunt because you saw the desert one time while you were flying into Leatherneck.
JEEEEEEEZUS you are a fat lazy shithead huh!
what are you, signal? Why are you even on /fit/ right now?
Chair force here
Push up: 60 in 1:00
Sit up: 50in 1:00
1.5 mile : 9:46
Routine: I stay up late and play Rainbow Six Siege. I am just really good at activating adrenaline when I need it. Which is why I can be lazy and get a 97.9 on my AFPT.
>muh superior branch
>muh harder PT test
No surer sign of a boot undeployed faggot or worse, a poolie civilian. Might as well wear a camelback, your dog tags outside your shirt and issued boots with civilian clothes.
Everyone who's been in and done real shit knows that every branch has the same mentally deficient officers, detached-from-reality senior NCOs, and borderline retarded privates. Except maybe the coast Guard but who gives a fuck about those faggots.
Is it a muhreen thing to think you're superior to all the other branches?
I mean I know army, navy and airforce talk shit about each other, but we're still bros. the muhreen corp just seems to be generally disliked by everyone since theyre such assholes.
when i was in boot camp literally 50% of it was us being told how shitty the other branches especially the army are, i once even said that army basic is pretty much the same as marine boot but got shutdown pretty hard by my other platoonmates , they literally told us that marine boot is the equivalent to Army Ranger school.
> marine boot is the equivalent to Army Ranger school
I don't have a proper reaction for this. What's worse is some of them even believe it.
Navyfag here, you went full retard. I'm sure you either never made it past E-3 or you get ad sep'd before completion of boot
no one told me that they would have my medical records from going to a military hospital as a kid
You're mistaken. They survived since 1950 with heavy sanctions. They are like Cuba but it actually works since they have oil and are given equipment like Russia.
Hahaha not in the current year lad, war, war has changed. Read up on the Battle for Baghdad airport. We got blown the fuck out by some mudslimes with antiquated weapons in 2003.
How do you improve those scores?
My crunches are absolutely abysmal (thanks SS). I'm working on getting my pullups up with the 20 pullup challenge program.
Are there any specially designed programs to prepare for military fitness tests? Specifically the USMC one?
I hold the record for 1.5 mile in my guard unit 7:42 and I recommend a few exercises besides running for as long as possible at your desired pace.
jump rope (improves cadence)
plymetrics for running.
bw calf raises to failure.
Also work on increasing horizontal momentum by reducing vertical osilation. Former college mile runner here hope it helps.

It always blows my mind when I hear people make fun of people for joining the military. I didn't join until I was 23 years old - so I had plenty of civilian job experience. I can easily say without any hesitation my life is so much easier now. I have a steady pay check, make more than most people in my age group, get to travel the world (whether I'm stationed overseas or want low air fare, since there's a massive discount when flying from base to base with AMC), college is free, rent is paid for, sex is easier since women - both foreign and local - love men in military uniforms... Oh, and my job that I was trained for, for free? The education for it costs an arm and a leg, but the military trained me, through their accredited college (so I received free college credit while learning the job they are paying me to do), for absolutely free. I sit behind a computer, do a very important but boring job for about 3 hours, then bullshit or workout at the gym in our building. I haven't even been in the same room as a gun in about 5 years since basic training. And if I ever want out, considering I was already trained and have the education to do what I do, I can easily get a job at Lockheed Martin or Boeing and beat anyone else who applies because I already have years worth of experience. And those companies would pay me MORE than the Air Force - which I already have more money than I know what to do with. I buy so much shit it's stupid, and yet I still add make profit every month. The Air Force set me up for the rest of my life.
This is literally the best thing to ever happen to me, and it blows my mind when people make fun of service members and call them stupid for joining. Easily the best idea I ever had, and I lived outside the military on my own for 5 years. But, have fun dealing with your student debt and paying for gym memberships, waiting in long lines for TSA when you want to travel, etc. etc.
Chair Force as well
Why do people go past the max? You don't get any more points for doing more than 67 pushups/59 situps in one minute, so you are only tiring yourself out for the run.
I haven't actually seen how many I can do in a minute because for years and years I hit the max with 10+ seconds left. The run kills my score though.
Waist - 27 inches
1.5 mile run - 9:48
Would like to add I'm 5'11, 172 lbs, and can deadlift 335lbs, so my waist isn't because I'm a manlet.
Anybody interested in a workout i got off of /k/?
Seems silly but a "Ranger" posted a sheet of workouts their Fitness Director figured would be best for combat.
You do get scored on it. It's very lenient though.
>what if you're an athletic half man/half lion hybrid and you happen to have a big waist?
Like I said, it's very lenient. It's basically to make sure fat people who literally only exercise all year to pass the pt test doing situps pushups and running just barely fast enought to pass, can get docked more points and possibly fail for having a fat waist. If you fail one portion of the test, you fail it all.
> National Guard meme
The National Guard deploys more than active duty. Since their deployments are on a rotation and there are not many National Guard units, they get deployed often.
I have a couple more I'll dump along with an actual Ranger's workout
I dont see anything wrong with the workouts they have on them. Its mostly pushups, pull-ups, squats, sit-ups, and lunges, all reputable workouts.
Ditto. It's pretty tits.
Not sure how you have it anon, but I could do pt any day by myself at the gym during shift.
weighted pullups, running and ruck marches
weighted running and ruck marches with gas mask on and carrying extra shit (like a rifle) in your hands
enough strength to carry LMG+ammo and/or a geared up person
optional: steroids and other PEDs, plus diuretics and creatine to dodge military piss screening
military pt is bullshit
its designed to test far too broad a spectrum of operational capabilities.
even in regiment the standards are for way too many types of fitness and some (looking at you 5 mile) dont measure combat effectiveness.
the rpat and raw should be the standard fitness tests for combat mos' and i dont give a fuck about support. pushups and situps, especially given testing standards during an apft are retarded.
