Guys help me i'm in a dilemma.
>very nice gym
>no squat rack
>twice the price of gym A
>has a squat rack
Guide me /fit/.
It really doesn't.
>mfw they have TWO smith machines
Well gym b doesn't even have real barbells(the 20kg ones with rotating ends, in fact they only have three bars, two of them i don't even bother using since they're covered in rubber and are extremely awkward to use) barely any mirrors, its really really small, its hot, it has one bench, the equipment is all rusty AND its twice the price of gym a.
I feel your pain, my girlfriend is from Brazil and whenever we are there I can never find a fucking squat rack. I called basically every gym in Macaé and none had one. Luckily my girlfriend's brother who is a boxer told me they had weights at the boxing gym. Plus I boxed most my life so it worked great for me.
Where you at in Brazil?
Thanks bro. Have this br teenage slut.
>very nice gym
>no squat rack
Ya theres no way this gym can be nice unless it has a lot of equipment. If you have a lot of equipment, how the fuck do you forget about the squat racks
my usual gym doesn't have a squat rack so I go to a different gym to train legs
the odd times i do train legs at my regular gym I do this clean the bar up off the floor
its good really taxingbut your limited to how much you can get off the floor i can only get 100kg off the floor like that and after 5 sets im fucked
this thread is literally just a sub-form of "le epic legday xD" twitter maymay
use a power rack or just don't be a huge faggot and clean the weight you're going to squat and then squat you giant faggot
or use the money you saved going to A to buy a person squat rack
fuck you stupid "powerlifters" drive me crazy
seriously, create a business. how fucking hard could it even be?
buy 1 rack
buy 3 olympic bars
spend up for 600 pounds in freeweights
and one treadmill
make it cost as much as the shit gym only other alternative
once you make your money back invest in more equipment
save your shit country
Home gym masterrace.
It's not even that expensive and the best long term investment you can make if you have some space for it (this is pretty much how much of it you need)
squat rack and bench are the most important tools in a gym faggot.
Other than that I only use the Roman Chair mostly for leg raises and chin ups (I also do pull-ups and dips once in a while) and that shitty thing for the hyperextensions as I do not deadlift every workout. I also use a chair for skull crusher.
Fuck that noise breh
Gym A is the way to go, at least until you find a decent gym with a squat rack.
Really not too big a deal desu unless you're a powerlifter, you can use the smith machine and be fine regardless of fits autistic dogmatic opinion, you don't even have to have huge legs to have a good physique if that's whT you're training for
If you're trying to powerlift though definitely try to find one that's nice AND has a squat rack
Had no choice but to use a gym with a smith machine and no squat rack when I started lifting.
No other gym in the area where I was living at the time, and no room in my apt for a home gym.
Got from squatting just the bar to squatting 250lbs using a smith.
Went to a "real" gym and squatted 250 using a real bar for the first time. Did my normal warm-up sets, and it was exactly the same.
Noticed the need to use more stabiliser muscles, but good form and good training meant I went into "real" squatting with no fucking issues at all.
This is what you're going to do. You're going to pic gym A, and socialize loads from day 1. You're going to get comfy with people just enough to ask them for their bodyweight.
You will make a compilation of bodyweights until you have a maximum difference of 2.5kg (5 burger units) between any two consecutive bodyweights in the list.
By this time you will have developed enough trust with enough of these people so as to use them as your squatting weights. This removes the need for a rack because people, unlike barbells, can recognise when they're falling and adjust accordingly.
Work on your form, it will need some adaptation.
that is actually extremely common
i used to do my squats in an inclined bench press setup
the gym i go now has an HALF squat rack
that is actually the best i could find, never found one full rack in here
