What is Husbando Mode?
>Husbando mode is traditional male aesthetics. Husbando mode for /fit/ has been described as a body built from barbell strength training with accessories (texas method, madcow, 5/3/1), 13% to 17% bodyfat, a sharp hair cut (traditional short back & sides, buzz cut, short mohawks, etc), some facial hair, bodyhair should be grown out or trimmed but not shaved off completely or waxed, well fitted and stylish clothes but not hipsterish & no skinny jeans. Twinks, ottermode, & bodybuilders are not husbando mode.

Yes any dude can get this mode from lifting hard and eating enough. Lol 19 is plenty of time. Dudes in their 30s can build this with 2 - 3 years of training let alone your age. My thing with the single-digit bodyfat is that while it gives off the appearance of being especially fit I think the reality is that it leaves a person somewhat frail. I figure a person at that level of bodyfat is only a flu season away from significant muscle wasting and hormonal issues, not to mention the protective aspects of bodyfat (see image). The whole point of working out for me is to be robust and strong and while admittedly it would turn more heads at the beach I just can't live with that level of relative weakness.

I've never done enough of them to know either way. My gut feeling is that super low reps of any isolation is touchy ground, but that's more speculation than experience when it comes to calves.

For forearms, I've had much better results with static grip work than with rep work (although people much better at this sort of shit than me say its good to do some extension work to go with all the squeezing stuff that grip work normally consists of). Farmers walks, fat bar work, grippers if you've got good ones, high rep shrugs, even hex holds and such.

The key regardless of exercise choice is to keep an eye on how beat up your hands and forearms are getting, because they're slow to recover and prone to overuse issues which will fuck everything else up.

I've veen doing SS with accessories as of late, and I've been stalling quite a bit. Should I go ahead and move on to Texas Method, or keep doing reloads and work with SS for a long time?

Anyone incorporated Oly work to get husbando mode? I've hit intermediate on my lifts with MadCow. Added in power cleans at novice. Thinking of adding power snatches but already doing a lot of volume once you include accessories.

It's FAR superior to SS. You need to bench twice a week at LEAST. It's not just getting in the benching, it's the volume work and assistance exercises as well that make the program so damn good.

Few guys at my gym an it after they did their 6 week meet program and have made substantial gains.

If you check the pastepin, I included a link to both books of the TM.

The TM is a template, not a set in stone. Most people choose to up their press, DL, squat and bench. I did it a little differently. I wanted to increase my press, bench, front squat and clean, so I did a program which had me max those out. It isn't necessary to do front squats, no, but you can incorporate them if you wish.

Wednesday's light day can include a variation of a squat, like the front squat or light paused squats instead.

I'd suggest taking a lazy Sunday to read through some of the Texas method, if you have the chance, in full. Some variations, for instance, don't have people doing power cleans on Mondays, but a DL variation, such as stiff legged DLs or lighter paused. Really, it's up to you to determine what will work best for -you-. Not everyone is made the same, either.

Either way, you'll make great gains on the TM man, good luck.

Yeah husbando mode is more like classic weight training with developing size, aesthetics, conditioning, strength, & health fairly equall and at the same time, before it split into separate disciplines of bodybuilding, powerlifting, oly lifting, strongman etc.

Early bbers had little distinction Arnold was a competition winning powerlifter, Sergio Olivia a gold medal winning oly lifter, Reg Park's was an all round sportsman & military fitness instructor etc.
