I came here a few months ago to ask for advice and I have been following it but lately I've been seeing a lot of people saying "SS + GOMAD" as a joke.
I know I sound new as fuck but what is that joke? Are they bad programs? I feel like they've been helping me.
I don't know if that joke is that they are bad so it's ironic or if people say it because that's what they tell every new person to do.
Not very but I do need weight. I am also a beginner but I'm running StrongLifts 5x5. I was just wondering what that joke was because I don't want to do GOMAD if it's actually not a good diet.
Goddam, everything about this picture except the dude on the left is horrifying.
SS is good, add a little bodybuilding and you'll be fine. For example: on the deadlift/OHP day, dips and abz, on the bench/clean day add dumbbell bench or incline and chinups, maybe some calves.
>I don't want to do GOMAD if it's actually not a good diet.
It is EXPLICITLY for mid-late teens underweight boys. If that is not you, do not drink a gallon of milk every single day.
The joke is that unless you're extremely underweight and still in your growing years, a gallon of whole milk a day in addition to your regular diet is way too much and a surefire way to get fat. There's been many examples of already fat retards who did the protocol and turned into even fatter retards.
GOMAD (gallon of milk a day) is widely regarded as terrible advice, unless you happen to fall into the category mentioned above.
Although provided you're not intolerant, whole milk is an excellent bulking food choice. But less will do it.
