I bet out of those 27lbs he lost not all of it was fat lol. He probably lost a lot of muscle.
>>
>>35699262
Asumming he were to do a lot of walking around then he'd get to eat more.
>>
Yes. That's why people here are stupid
>>
>>35699276
Unless you are measuring the energy content in your shit and heat and energy expenditure exactly just saying "thermodynamics" is fucking meaningless. Every measured calorie burned in a calorimeter of energy does not teleport into your bloodstream upon entering your mouth. Wod has tons of calories by that measure but you will starve to death on sawdust.
>>
No shit
>>
>>35699283
Which is irrelevant to the point of the exercise.
>>
>>35699327
Well wood doesn't have any fat, protein, or (digestible) carbohydrates, so it effectively has zero calories for people.
If you eat less calories than you burn, you lose weight, that is simply impossible to refute.

No shit you will lose weight calorie counting.
But I bet you he felt like shit all the time. He isnt getting the right nutrients from the food. Unless he was taking multi vitamins like many people do. This is still a bad way to go about getting calorie counting out there. Retarded people are going to take this as "OH, i can eat what ever the fuck I want and still lose weight because someone else ate at a convenience store every day for 2 months, hurr durr"
Besides, this faggot professor probably lost alot of muscle weight. What a fucking joke of a professor.
>>
Can you do something similar to this AND gain muscle?
>>
Yes.

Source: Ate practically nothing but Papa John's personal pizzas from my college for the school year. In total, about 1200 calories a day or so, plus snacks and a drink so probably about 1500 once totaled. Felt like total fucking shit but lost around 40 pounds

Get the fuck out, fatass.
>>
>>35700496
Dude how retarded are you? Just walking 8,000- 10,000 steps which is a an ordinary day for me and you'll lose about 500 calories.

Saying walking doesn't do shit or isn't effective is a lie.
>>
>>35700496

you can lose weight really fast if you dont mind it being muscle anon, none of his food had protein except the beef jerky and maybe the "hot dogs"

>I bet... not all of it was fat lol
Where exactly did he tell his students this was a "fat loss" demonstration, you fucking imbecile?

>>35700080
If you're getting sufficient amounts of protein and have a legit routine going it's possible, but tricky. Fat loss + building muscle is more difficult than simply bulking, cutting, or clean bulking, and restricting yourself to food high in fat and low in protein makes it even more so.
>>
>>35699262
how fast
>>
The movie Fathead does the same concept with fast food. Dude shows how that idiot in Super Size Me skewed all his data and ate in extreme excess.

This is possible and probably true.

If you take into account the willpower required and the detrimental effects to your body (specifically the gut), this experiment is not one to be repeated.

There are really easy ways to lose weight such as consuming mostly coconut oil as a cooking fat and also taking supplements such as Hot Rox.
>>
>>35699638
are you really this retarded?
the entire purpose is to prove to fatasses that you don't have to go on diets, you can literally eat the same shitty food, in less quantity, and lose weight.
it's babysteps to getting healthier, next they can learn what's good to eat, have to start somewhere.

fuck.
>>
>>35699202
Technically yes, it's just calories in calories out.
The reason this is a terrible weight loss diet is, aside from the nutritional aspect, it's very little food. Just one pound of Doritos has like 2250 calories. Unless you're on some kind of appetite suppressant, it's pretty much impossible for a grown man to get by on one pound of food per day every day for two months. You also basically wouldn't be able to function much, I'm curious what he did during those two months.
>>
not even close, I actually tested this out once with one month of mcdonalds and burger king and taco bell only, I gained 20lbs. It might have been the sauces which I didn't include in the calories, and I had mostly diet soda so didn't include those either, and crackers in between each meal didn't include because it was pretty low calorie.
>>
Yes. It's a nice way to prove that you don't have to completely cut out junk food from your diet to lose weight. Of course, some retards will take this as an excuse to just eat nothing but junk
>>
>>35701778
True. Plus if someone were to have a hard time cutting junk food out of their diet, its a good way to start cutting them out by limiting how much you eat
>>
>>35701745
You probably miscalculated your TDEE
>>
>>35701745

>>35701745

>implying calories and laws of thermodynamics are defunct
>>
>>35699327
Okay retard but we are not talking about calorie in the net energy of a fucking system terms. We are talking about actual digestible material and it's energy content for the human body which is not some debatable thing.
>>
>>35699202
yes you blind hardcunt
>>
>>35701876
I was, I caculated a deficit of 50 calories a day, I ate only 2500 a day of those foods and my TDEE is 2550 according to some calculator, I walked every day, lifted once a week or so.
>>
>>35699202
Yes that's why you hear retards getting on the morning news after only eating mcdonalds and losing weight.

It really is not that hard. Probably isn't a large amount of food or good for you either.
>>
>>35699389
Well the tricky part of the equation is the
> you burn

As in, even though we both may weigh say 175lbs, I may burn 100 cal going up the stairs, while you might burn 120. Furthermore, I might burn 240 if I warmed up properly.

So while it's true cal in = cal out, you can't accurately measure the cal out part.

Literally the best way to lose weight is to exercise and eat some set amount of a balanced meal for a week, then weigh yourself. If you're maintaining or gaining weight, eat slightly less and exercise slightly more. Than repeat the check next week until you start losing weight.
>>
>>35701909
>i was at a 50 calorie deficit
>except for all the sauces and crackers I never tracked
You fucking idiot. Besides, a 50 calorie a day cut is nothing. If you were tracking perfectly and you knew your tdee perfectly, it'd take over two months to lose a pound
>>
>>35699202
I wonder how many people hopped on the twinkie diet after reading these articles

But he didn't. He super sized whenever they asked, he commented on portion size and calories. It's like you didn't even watch Super Size Me.

Yes. To agree with almost everyone here... It is the main component. Having said that, optimal nutrition is the right number of calories from macronutrients and the right micronutrients. Hydration is also important.

>>
>>35701745
i bet you think a big mc with XL fries are 500 calories right? kek a little bk ranch sauce sachet is like 200 cal dude
>>
>>35704494
It was part of the experiment. As I said above, in the movie he COMMENTS ON PORTION SIZE AND CALORIC CONTENT specifically. He doesn't say "well you can eat small portions at McDonald's without getting fat" but he doesn't hide the fact that by eating a "combo meal" for every meal and supersizing whenever asked he's eating a ton of calories. Saying he skewed the data isn't accurate, or even true in any way, because he was totally upfront about what he was eating and how and why it was affecting him. He wasn't saying "McDonald's will make you fat" but he was saying that it will make you unhealthy if it's a staple in your diet. Using the hyperbolic demonstration of eating it for every meal was evidently for dramatic effect for anybody with any critical thinking skills, and even for those of the audience without critical thinking skills (ie Americans) he spelled it all out.
>>
Yes but the question is how will it make you feel?

You can eat at a 1000kcal deficit with sugary shit that gives you an insulin spike or you eat complex carbs that give you a steady flow of energy thrpughout the day, just because you can play around with your food doesn't mean that you're being healthy.
>>
>>35704622
The doctortells Spurlock he's been eating an average of 5,000 calories a day, even though he only Supersized 9 out of 30 meals. By the end of the movie, Spurlock is fat and his cholesterol has gone through the roof, but also had severe liver damage, as well asmood swings and depression.

Here's the thing: No one has been able to replicate Spurlock's results, basic math disputes the claim that his McDiet consisted of 5,000 calories a day, & to this day he refuses to release his daily log of what he ate.

Spurlock is a turd, the kind that shoots out after a bunch of McDonalds.
>>
>>35704747
Well by, I just for a laugh stuck three McMeals in MyFitnessPal and came up with 4500 calories in a day, and portion sizes are smaller at McDonald's now than they were at that time. I also didn't include any ice cream or pie or any of that shit and he ate all that stuff because he had to clear the whole menu.
I'm not saying it's impossible that he cheated, but based on that quick bit of math I really don't think approximately 5000 calories a day is an unreasonable estimate.
>>
>>35699202
I'm pretty sure it is true. There was one month in my life where I did nothing but smoke weed and eat 1 pizza each day, I still lost weight.

It really is all about calories. For the past week I've limited myself to about 1200 calories a day. I have McDonald's hot cakes with syrup (500 calories) in the morning, a mcchicken (370 calories) for lunch, and a 6" subway turkey sub on Italian herbs and cheese bread with lettuce only ( about 300 calories) and I'm down 7 pounds and looking leaner everyday.
