I have a scale too and use it, but I never worry about how many grams of protein or carb/fats I get a day. That's such a waste of time. It's called common sense. You won't feel or look different tracking eveything exactly. It's all about the calories and your goals. These noobs will learn eventually when they are tired of adding everything little thing to their diary like a slice of ham or cheese

Literally he's eating exactly how you should on a bulk. You don't need all of your calories from protein, and it can be detrimental. You'll build more muscle if you get a bunch of carbs, a bunch of fats, and about .8g protein/lb.
