I assume it starts getting dangerous with higher weight(as in really high)? I've gone up to 120kgs and still no knee pain.

Diddlys are a pleb exercise in general. It's just that people have to do it because not all gyms have platforms.
I'm sure if platforms were the norm in gyms, you'd see people doing more oly lifts and cleans. They're not only good, they're fun too.
