what matters is overall volume. if you get your volume by doing 5x10, 2 exercises for 2-3 sets of 8-12, 10 sets of 3, doesn't matter hypertrophy-wise. if you want to train for strength, do your main exercise low reps and keep the reps high for accessory movements.
