I am in my 3rd month of it and I love it. I love the conditioning days since I can keep all of that out of my heavy days and just focus on the big three.

I messaged Izzy about front squats and ohp for the light days. He said it shouldn't be a problem so that's what I do for my Wednesdays.

The micro loading has been the game changer. As well as the program fitting to me and how I feel on any given training day.

Really sore/painful as in DOMS sore rear delt that started during the workout and was getting progressively worse, became tighter few hours post workout and had literally innumerable trigger points on it that I used a lacrosse ball to deal with. Also made internal rotation as in reaching to my oppossite shoulder blade from the back more difficult. Is it a tendon from my rotator cuff or a rotator cuff/delt muscle?

The downside to high frequency/high intensity work is that you detrain stupid fast compared to other routines, least in my experience.

Combine that with the frequency and shit gets painful whenever you take a break.

It's weird, because my frequency didn't seem all that high to me (3x/wk for each lift). But I guess it's because I'm using the muscles daily (alternating between squat+bench and deadlift+press).
Good thing I'm going to school soon, and all my friends are graduated. I'll have lots of time for lifting with no social life.

That can work, but once you do bring lowbar squats back in it might take a while to hit some PRs because you'll need to get back in the groove.

It's not a huge deal to do front squats as your main movement, but I'd suggest doing light low bar sets once or twice per week, just to keep the groove. Maybe do some speed work or something.

So I posted a pic of my macros last night bc I just started following them but myfitnesspal messed up and didn't include the protein or carbs in one of my sandwiches. I was planning on doing a local meet next Saturday but i'm having second thoughts after having a terrible peak.
Last meet I went 225/117.5/240 for 6/9.
I'm hitting openers later today which I have planned at 205/120/230.
Problem is I failed a 215 squat (~95%) 2 weeks ago and could barely squat 200 (89%) yesterday. I also failed a 235 deadlift (~95%) on Wednesday. Bench is feeling good though.
I'm hoping it's just from too much fatigue and i'll feel good on meet day.
Has anyone had a super shitty peak that lead to a good meet?

Squatted today. Erectors weren't as painful as they had been. Did 65% for 3x8 and felt a little big of a quad pump and tired hip flexors for the first time in my life. Erectors still were sore (on both sides) for about 40 mins afterwards. At first glance I'd say stretching is helping. Thoughts?

Try getting it checked out by someone, since it could be an underlying issue I don't know about. Keep up the stretching though anyway, since it's helped a little so far, and wouldn't hurt you for the time being.

I'm hovering around 3/2/4 right now at 225ish (kinda stopped weighing myself regularly since I'm mostly maintaining without counting calories or anything).
I'm pretty fat at the moment, so I'm hoping to drop at least 15lb in the coming semester, then do bulk/cut cycles between 200 and 215 until I'm not so fat. I'm also going to up my volume a bit, since I'm only averaging around 0.9-1.0 INOL/week on each lift. Steadily adding 5-10lb per month, but I could obviously go faster than that.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to the consistency and low stress of school. It'll be great for my progress as a lifter, and I'll be doing experimentation with my westside conjugate stuff. Ironically, the more I've been tweaking it to improve results, the more it looks like TM. Go figure.

No, I'm just doing it to get stronger in general while having some fun on the way. I would like to try some strongman stuff eventually, but my primary goal right now is that 500lb deadlift while being slightly less fat.
I'm not even sure I want to do powerlifting... I like the sport, but I don't feel much desire to compete. I'm just not a competitive person, and I don't like being in front of a crowd.

Conjugate (and some conjugate-derived setups, like Cube) tend to work pretty well for Strongman, because the things about it that are usually flaws for raw powerlifting play into the things a Strongman needs to develop.

Its not identical to how a geared PLer would do it, but there's arguably more overlap than between raw PLing and strongman.

Generally, if you've got it in you to be good at one you've got it in you to be good at the other. Maybe not exactly identical, but not a massive difference in most cases.

Unfortunately, being 6'0 can be one of those cases. Depending on what weight classes the promoters nearby use.

6'0 is kind of a rough height to be in Strongman. You're generally too short to be super competitive in the open weight category, but too tall to be super competitive in the u-105kg/231lb class (where most of the best are ~5'7 or so). Some promoters throw in an extra weight class around 120 or 130kg, but its not part of the 'official' weight classes used in the big competitions in most places.

PLing at least gives you a couple of heavier weight classes before you're lumped in with the elephants.

I'll have to explore which PL feds are available to me in my areas, but like I said, I'm not sure about competing at all. I know of at least a couple of feds off the top of my head: Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate and some tiny no-name fed in my hometown that only does push-pull because they can't be bothered to transport their only power cage around / out of the gym. I haven't checked their weight classes yet, though.

Thanks. I have a feeling I wouldn't compete IPF though, even if I had the opportunity. I like the strictness of their rules, but I don't like some of the rules themselves (heels-down bench, approved equipment, underwear checks, and probably others).
I would also want to support feds that have both tested and untested divisions, because that makes more sense to me than only allowing one or the other.

well ideally you've already begun your peak and have all your programming already prepared, because there's not much you can do about that now. The night before make sure you pack everything you need. It'll probably be a long day so make sure you bring enough food and water to last. You'll need knee length socks and probably briefs so if you don't have them, get them. Think about what you want your attempts to be, and allow small changes depending on how the weight feels on the day. Try your best to get enough sleep the night before, but bring caffeine anyway. Don't overdo it this week in training and maybe take a day or two completely off before your meet. Make sure you're familiar with all the calls. Smash your weights and meet new people.

Week 1 done (which was easy as fuck) and week 2 received. Feels like a hypertrophy phase with DUP, 2x/week for DL and squats. Squats for sets of 7-8, DLs for 4-5. Bench 3x/week, anything from sets of 8 to 5's to working up to a single set of moderately heavy 5s.

Vids I sent in initially had me basically losing my position in the DL (back rounding at start). To no one's surprise I have a lot of back work (mostly rows) and at least W1 I had pause deadlifts programmed. Also RDL's as assistance (no idea why dont know this exercise) as well as decline weighted situps (really no idea why). Finally some leg press as well, suspect it's to help strength off the floor or possibly just general strength in the squat too.

tl;dr mostly main lifts with little variation with some assistance sprinkled on top, trusting the bryce magic but cant say i know why im doing what im doing

I was in the same place as you - stopped for 6 months due to family problems and hospitalisation. Izzy's routine is great because it is aggressive enough as to drive progress but not in such a way that a bad day or "life" will cripple you.
Also he puts a big emphasis on technique so even a lazy fuck such as myself managed to learn how to properly do the lifts correctly.
