macros matter. I would say no. You could probably lose more weight ditching the carbs, and just eating protein, but it wouldn't be healthy. You would be starving your body.

all calories are the same when it comes to weight loss, but I don't think I need to tell you that eating only carbs or only fat is a bad idea.

you will lose weight simply due to calorie deficit, but you will look like shit, and will lose more muscle than fat. If you want to cut, lower carbs keep protein up and fats moderate-low.
