I sometimes do them with a barbell while sitting down. I do sets of 6 to 8 with 100-110kg. I just get a far better burn/pump with dumbbels. I do barbell ohp like... 20% of the time.

Bruh. Working out 'for the burn' obviously hasn't gotten you anywhere, and standing barbell OHP is very, very different from sitting.
Try it for like 6 weeks, rather than sporadically once every 3 weeks, and if it doesn't work, no harm done.

Smith machines take around 15kg off the lift, making his seated press around 75-85kg, I thought it was potentially believable given his lack of muscle and supposed bench, it would be closer to the bench/ohp ratio, but I didn't want to run my mouth until he either confirmed my suspicion about using a smith, or bullshitting.
