Anyone else ran/running PNP2?
Im finding it really hard to do all 3 lifts on the same day at this point. Today I was programmed to do:
142KG Squats for 3 sets
103KG Bench for 5 sets
170KG Deads for 2 sets
And by the time I got to deadlifts I was just mentally and physically fucked, didn't even get up to my working weights because it felt so slow
surely tomorrow wont be at all like 3 weeks ago
>She will never sit down her fat sweaty jiggling ass post workout on your face and force you to wrestle through her perfect combination of fat and muscle to eat her protein farts and dirty ass
why even live boys
What do you lads think about becoming a supple leopard? Seems like such a meme name, but I'm interested in actually improving my body's performance and not be so stiff all the time.
Also, anyone got a link to the pdf? Couldn't find it in the dropbox
Who else isn't voting because all of the candidates are awful? I don't think I'd be happy with my choice no matter who I voted for.
Heavy squat song. Srs.
I'm about 10% less for squat, and any difference for deadlift is honestly marginal. I probably don't "get" anything out of it for bench but I wear it for heavy reps anyway just to remind myself to keep my abs and lats tight.
I can't mentally force myself to hold even a second longer than a minute in couch stretch kek.
Worst is that I can't even get half way up and this kind of have to hold in a push-up position to trigger a pain - this is mental torture.
God i am a pussy
any tips on the couch stretch? Does your couch have to be perfect for it? do you lean into it? I feel like I'm hitting nothing but my ankle
Mustard is disgusting so pretty much anything
I usually use a standard pork rub and it always turns out great.
I'f I'm making a roast in the crock-pot I'll season it with dry ranch mix and dry gravy mix and it's delicious.
Lmao, ankle really hurts yea.
But the other shit hurts more so i don't care.
I do it up against a wall because couch isn't high enough for leg.
Well, if you get your knee as close to the wall as you can, then upright, ass pressed against to stretch legs heeel and then flex that legs glute you should die from the pain, IMHO
>Mustard is disgusting so pretty much anything
Bob Couch – Pump Iron Lyrics
Well working real hard I’m just a middle class man, working for a man that I can’t stand.
Sometimes it takes all I got to get me through the day.
So when I get home about half past five, I need to do something that helps me unwind.
I need to do something that keeps me from going insane.
I need to pump iron.
I need to push out another set.
I need to pump iron.
I got to work off all this sweat.
You see but working out my muscles I’m relaxing my mind and after an hour or two I’ll find, my whole outlook on life is shiny and new.
I just remembered when I wanted to... (You're gonna laugh) ...trip here lmao
I was almost a massive fucking attention seeking autistic retard
Ahhahahah how retarded must you be TO POST PERSONAL INFORMATION on 4chan ahhahahaha
hmm I think you are mistaking me for someone else, but yeah, stretching is really important. Before PL I was doing Taekwondo, I was already really flexible, and it's still helping me nowadays
Dude, rhyming a word or phrase with the same exact word or phrase is actually a total fucking power move and more people need to do it. And he actually rhymes man with stand tbf.
>mfw just bought a super cent
>mfw third suit in as many months
>mfw I can afford this
Well, we'd stretch everytime we trained (4 times a week), before and after. We'd do dynamic stuff and short static stretches (20s max) before, and looong static stretches after (2 mins+). You really have to work hard for it, but once you have it, you keep most of it with minimal effort
they already are doing joint suicide
>tfw can't know that feel
desu I don't even mind the pain. I just want to be able to go down without feeling like I'm going to lose control of the weight/not get anything out of it
it was raining so i went to my dorm gym instead of walking 2 miles to my usual one, and as a result i had to use the lat pulldown machine and the row machine for my back day instead of counterbalanced chinups and tbar row that i usually do. how many gains have i lost?
it was mostly just a consulting call. he said i had good technique and stuff. That he thinks i should use a less wide bench grip as a bench variation to build strength and bring my sumo stance in a tad. I will probably get coaching for like the 11 weeks before collegiate nats. My main issue was the benefits of coaching in general, not TSA coaching, and he said he had the same concerns and wasn't really sure if coaching was helpful for everyone/most people but i think i'm gonna give it a try.
>not voting for based rand paul.
but yeah i'm probably not voting in the general election.
i use the wall desu. ankle hurts a little but flexor should hurt most.
really? i don't think its that hard though?
Seasoning isn't really a condiment lad
And if we're talking about pre-made seasoning mixes this is the GOAT
>bench press pr is 4x205lb
do I try and do 225 next sesh or wait until I can do 205x8? I want my first time to be special, so I don't wanna struggle and barely make 1 rep.
advice on losing 2pl8 virginity?
I'd say you could probably get it now. 205 is just slightly over 90% of 225, so if you can get 4 I'd say there's a solid chance of hitting 225 as long as you are well rested and don't let your head get in the way of your muscles.
nah, I was able to kick properly after a few weeks, it took me 3 years in order to do a split tho, even tho I think you could do it in a few months if you really dedicate yourself. As far as (proper) stretching goes, more=better. For PL purposes I wouldn't go as far as being able to do a split, just work on your mobility until you can hit the right positions in the 3 lifts, then I'd start a more conservative approach
I'm wearing this suit I'm using in the video and it's a joke
It's so fucking soft
point taken but I can hit depth in that suit right now without weight
The TRX is basically death tho
Could I make decent gains on a weekly schedule like:
>5x10 flyes at a ridiculously low weight to stretch
>5x5 goodmornings with a comfortable weight
if you take more than 30 second breaks in between you're doing these wrong i'm pretty sure. it should take 10 minutes total not 1 hour.
I want someone good to join me on my single ply journey desu
It's just right for us. Both of us are disillusioned raw lifters who realise we can't be good, but we might be able to eke some more PBs out of something provided we have the pain tolerance. Which we do or we wouldn't keep powerlifting in the face of no positive reinforcement for over a year
>I want someone good to join me on my single ply journey desu
>Which we do or we wouldn't keep powerlifting in the face of no positive reinforcement for over a year
STOP PLEASE STOOOOOOOPPPPPPPP I'M NOT OK WITH THIS
why are you set on staying at 205 before 225?
why not do 210, 215, 220 and then have a solid 225? you'll be done within 2 weeks and have 225 clean and easy instead of jumping and probably fucking up
especially if you haven't handled anything higher than 205 before and not done any RMs before
I benched 140kg two days ago.
I didn't even feel happy about it. Just wondered what took me so long.
Aaron, do you remember joy? I don't. I remember excitement though. Excitement was opening a parcel with my last squat suit "OH BOY I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY THIS ONE" I thought
Actually that's a lie. I remember joy. The only time I felt like this was first two times I deadlifted 280kg in comp.
Powerlifting is just a habit to me. I can't ever stop. At least I enjoy the act of training, because the results sure don't give me anything
NO GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT
GET OUT OF MY HEAD
I WON'T LET YOU DRAG ME DOWN LIKE THIS
4chan? Nope. It's been purely powerlifting and meeting actually talented people. My eyes are open. They can never be closed.
It's okay though, I find life satisfaction elsewhere, in the quality of friends. And enjoyment in just excercise.
>it's an isley and norsefat claim they are worthless episode
Yuck. That's worse than "muh genetics".
"Talent" can come in so many different forms, that it is a really shitty term to use to "write off" people who are adept at a skill.
>sean unironically claiming rare frogs on an indigenous Polynesian tribal tattoo image board
>don't try and say talent doesn't exist
I keep it out of my lexicon. Only two types of people are allowed to use the world "talented."
>Jelly 12 year old girls (replace "talented" with "skinny bitch")
I think Oreo's best athletic trait is the fat between his ears.
His head is screwed on tight.
please help spread my img on your instagram
I don't have access
>Doesn't matter what you have between your head if you've body won't adapt.
That's the million dorrar question...
"If Phil's head was in Isley's body, would Isley have a higher wilks than he does?"
Regardless, mentality is the biggest make-or-break characteristic of an athlete seeking improvement.
>"If Phil's head was in Isley's body, would Isley have a higher wilks than he does?"
There is practically* nothing I could have done better in the last year.
*perhaps I could/should have changed my peak to give myself a couple more days off
I can say this with conviction
>it's another Buda spouts stupid false statements and makes himself look like a dumbass episode
i think what he's saying is
why the fuck care about something predetermined
>>35631194 here he says
>Regardless, mentality is the biggest make-or-break characteristic of an athlete seeking improvement.
which can easily be affected by stewing over predetermined things..... at least i think it can.
god an audible kek out of me.
>on your instagram
>i don't have access
get access. you have the power to follow your dreams of starting the nazi party again
>honeymustard and dill lads?
triggered out the ass
the only acceptable seasoning for pork is a nice peppery mixture of vinegar, salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes. Brown sugar is acceptable if you're a fag, and tomato product is NOT EVER OK
>a dumbass episode
It's another "seen is the biggest headcase of them all" episode.
>There is practically* nothing I could have done better in the last year.
This is bullshit, Ice. I genuinely think you've talked yourself out of pounds on the bar through sheer ass-hole-ery alone.
>its a sean thinks anyone cares about him frogstealing episode
Nah it's not m8. With the information available to me at all turns, I made the best possible decisions.
What're the most important consideration in training?
I could not have done better in either.
Perfect? lolno. Good? yeah. And what's the difference between good and perfect? Nothing much.
I never missed a set. I never missed a session. I never half arsed it. I struggled with ergs and pieces in rowing. In powerlifting, I can say I truly haven't.
Jesus christ you're an edgy shit. Different people react differently to identical training, and the one that makes the most gains is the most talented(provided other factors are controlled for). No amount of iron lyfe will change the fact that some people can handle more amount of work without getting injured, or have better builds for a big total.
>inb4 I'm weak and wrong and need to work harder
>tfw Nicole isn't there to support me doing heavy singles
>I never missed a set. I never missed a session.
>the one that makes the most gains is the most talented
I wish I could think the way that you do. It would soothe me on sleepless nights.
I ran competitively for 7 years, and I've been coaching runners for 10. Never in a million years would I say that I've got it figured out completely, or that I've maximized my own, or an athlete's potential (within reason).
Most athletes retire mentally far before their body does. Especially around the 8-10 year mark within the same sport.
What do you mean with sensual?
>Most athletes retire mentally far before their body does. Especially around the 8-10 year mark within the same spo
And thus no one of them was talented? You can't really deny that at the top in any given sport, everyone works their hardest and smartest, yet there are still differences between the athletes. Why? Talent.
I like you a lot isley but to say that you havent done many mistakes is just plain wrong
also i dont think wilks programming is any good, and most people here agree with me. I dont doubt that hes a nice guy and a good platform coach, but I think one can make the objective claim that his programming is sub-optimal to say the least
>but he created this and that good lifters
well thats what non-top coaches do, they take credit for the ones they succeed with and never mention the ones that failed
ive seen some people stall for a long time and then start with something new, often one of the so-often called 'canned programs' or 'meme programs', and their total shoot up quite fast.
ive mostly seen you do more or less the same thing over and over
i got my hopes up when you said you were gonna commit to avons sheiko thing, are you still doing that? if you're often straying from the plan then you will not see as good gains as otherwise. so i really hope you're gonna do that and follow through, maybe then you can understand that programming and other factors are not just this tiny coefficient to greatness next to talent. you can work yourself to greatness
im not shitting on you, you are one of my favorite trips. but this cynicism has to go. you put your negative energy into things you cant control[talent] and not into things you can control [mistakes you make in training etc]. its NOT good for progress.
you are still young, this correction can still be made
I'm still doing avon's sheiko and the program is basically half my own making because equipped.
I'm going up a weightclass too.
Btw I never half finish a program. I do what the session says I will. Always.
the power the national feds have is fucking dumb. im competing in the junior european championship in a few months and im being forced to attend the entire fucking 5 day event for some reason, i told them it was difficult for me planning wise and they said i could just not go...
that with a lot of other bullshit, not gonna go into to much detail but i fucking hate how they think they have any authority. i got this far on my own and i dont need some appointed dipshit yelling cues at me
ive trained myself pretty succesfully for over 5 years now, im pretty sure i know whats best for myself.
this process however requires some sense of self criticism and objectivity, which you seem to lack looking at your previous whiny apologetic posts about doing everything perfectly even though your lifts are mediocre at best.
>ive trained myself pretty succesfully for over 5 years now, im pretty sure i know whats best for myself.
They're not gonna train you dipshit they want to get you ready for the european championship they're sending you to
>this process however requires some sense of self criticism and objectivity, which you seem to lack
Joking aside, Isley, he has a point. You might benefit from some self-exploration as far as training is concerned. Have you ever made your own programming, or have you just always been following others?
Yeah mate, decided powerlifting isn't for me because i can't be arsed with it, i know i'd at least be good, i'm naturally strong and that, my squat could be sick, but just be arsed with it all. i still lift but not looking to compete or anything yano what i mean
started boxing a while back which i'm really enjoying, the endurance aspect is fuckin taking me to bits though lol
how's hoisting steel cylinders going?
i have made my own programming and at this point have over 2 years of data regarding my progress explained with like 25 different variables (anything from volume to level of work stress)
i literally have a model explaining e1rm out of these variables, i statistically know what drives my progress. or at least way better than anyone else.
perks of being an autist i suppose
Classic. Well doing what you find fun is important.
Erm I'm still pretty mediocre at moving them, so I decided to let my clothes do it for me.
give it 18 months and you'll be one of them bald neanderthal types forced into a rubber exoskeleton ready to move 300kg 2 inches and claim a lift
well in your case more like 30 but close enough
I like boxing and i have a brutal explosive punch so i'm better than most other people who've been training the same amount of time as me, but the experience lot just dance around and gas me ha the snide cunts
oh i got my degree too
Vid from today's session (ft. wife). Went pretty well. Knees were upset with me by the 5th set of squats but I just put more tape on and worked through it lmao.
Feelin good about squats regardless.
Anyone got the scoop on hot sales doing down around the internet. Looking for some lifting shoes that are easy on the clams
When are you going to post your instagram in this thread?
My deadlift is shit. Today was Texas Method intensity day, and I squatted 5x350, benched 3x265 and pulled 5x355. I've pulled more in the past, but I'm trying to improve my form. I never have any problems keeping my torso tight and spine straight on squats, but keeping my back neutral on deadlifts seems much harder for some reason. I dunno if it's just a mental thing that'll be fixed by better cues, or because of my shitty hamstring mobility causing me to round my back instead of purely hinging at the hips when I bend over too far, or both. I'm considering adding in some light deadlifts earlier in the week to really focus on form, in addition to the mobility work I'm already doing. You guys have any other ideas/suggestions? I really don't want to snap my shit up.
No, I moved back to the UK after worlds and now I live in East London (bruv)
I actually will be. My coach is spotting me here (btw I just bench 3 plates, shit was so cash) and apart from the bit where he's a lecturer in biomechanics for a nearby university, he's your iconic bald tattooed injured powerlifter.
But he can still bench 180kg raw when he's at the business end of a training cycle
east london hahaha how are you coping with all the poor brown people?
kinell mate 180, is he natty yeah? what are your raw lifts these days? did you get that 280 dead you were after
oh does supermong still post?
basically just fill me in on everything that's happened over the last 9 months or so
I've been seriously considering it, my only worry is my first competition (lol) is March 6 and I'm not sure if I'll be able to really get used to sumo enough to make it worth it by then. Might give it a shot tho
If you're worried about all around strength I think it's important to include the back squat.
Either will work honestly. I personally hate doing more than a triple on front squat so I'd do 5x3 or something like that but that's just me. If I had to pick I'd say start with 3x5 then move to 5x5 later.
Bill Starr's progression twice a week.
Not that I think it's the smartest approach, but Max Aita got up to a five hundo front squat just front squatting singles every day.
Like 40 seconds
Is this something to worry about? Obviously I won't be wearing them for DL's again but are they damaged or is it just cosmetic?
>Norse you seem so much happier / less angry / less depressed lately
it's a new point of weakness in the material. they'll stretch out more there and less everywhere else, creating uneven support
shouldn't tear off tho. they'll still keep you warm, and you weren't wearing them for the weight boost anyways so the loss in efficiency doesn't matter that much
>Tfw weak ass first pull
>DL only 160 but can pull 200 from blocks
>carries over to cleans
I'm a weightlifter but I figure you guys know more about this. What's a good movement to train the first pull? Deficit pulls?
I am wearing some sambas. Basically they are soccer flats. Flat sole, but somewhat flexible. I've been powerlifting for just under a year, doing a bit of squats for just over a year.
Thanks, Ill try this in my next heavy set.
anyone know where to get any of these shoes in australia? I've got the money to buy them online but I'd like to try them on before I pick.
or even better, does anyone know if a size 12 in an ordinary nike/adidas shoe is the same as a size 12 in their respective wl variations?
