Other transformation thread 404'd just as I was about to post. Pretty sure it was a thread like this on /fit/ that convinced me to start lifting 3 years ago.
Rate, mire, and criticize each other's progress in /fit/ fashion.
Good work, hard gaining sucks shit!
September 2015 - January 2016.
Started crossfitt-esque classes at work, they get a PT in daily and it's free so why not? Got some fitness and learned form for a couple of key lifts.
From December I have been doing SS, definitely noticing solid gains since I started. Other than that I just do jiu jitsu (Kawaishi)
Very impressive, overall you gained muscle and seemed to have retained or even lose BF
Good start, keep it up and you'll have a very good first year of lifting
Good mass gained, keep going and when you shred down in 1-2 years you'll look fantastic
Keep it up, mang. Make sure you add in a good amount of upper body accessories to SS so that you don't turn yourself into rippletits newest dino victim.
Great work for 6 months mang.
I've done a large variety. Back and forth between strength and hypertrophy routines. Think it went something along the lines of PPL (focus on compounds at low reps so pretty SS'ish) -> SL (briefly didn't like rep scheme) -> SS with accessories -> 5/3/1 BBB -> Texas Method -> Suicidal volume hypertrophy routine -> Back to Texas Method.
Right now I'm running a Smolov Jr cycle for Squat and OHP. Doing it for OHP was a bit sketchy at first but it's actually working great for me. Finished second week and haven't failed a workout yet.
OP please tell me how much you weighed before and how much you weigh now? Also what is your height (just so i can put the weight in perspective)
Pls don't lie about any of this, this is an anon messageboard no one knows you or cares about how tall or short you are except for trolls
In the beginning, go on a bulk because you can gain a lot of muscle (and weight in general) fast.
After the "noob gain" years wear off aka 3-4 years of consistent and legit training/eating, then slow it down and go for longer bulking periods with slow gains in a gradual caloric surplus aka not dirty bulk.
In either case, I recommend bulking on more carbs and less fat. So like 20-22% of your calories coming from fat
i was pretty close to giving up because of "muh genetics", but i think things have really improved for me recently!
my weird slanted nips also disappeared somehow!
h8 r8 appreci8
bulking now, hence no recent pic
I'm right there with you, senpai. They're my weakest point hence why I'm throwing them through a Smolov Jr cycle currently. I'm at 325 atg, so hopefully they'll start getting juicy in the next few months.
>19(20 in 5 days)
>started at 265lbs January 2014
>lift every other day
I fucked around bc of a job for 2 months and Gained like 15lbs but I lost most of it. My goal weight is 160
Don't have a good before picture but these are my face gains after working out for 1 year (although the before pic is 6 months before I started working out). I like to think I look less like shit now.
I look weird bc of the lighting and angle(plus the fact that I'm dyel as shit)
I wish my love handles would go away
Body gains. I'm 6'2 and I went from low 150s on the left to low 160s on the right. I know I still have a longggg way to go and there's nothing I can do about my ladyhips, but I'm in it for the long term. On a slow bulk now.
When I flex. Being dyel sucks ass
Yeah I do. But I was am idiot and cut too hard. I'm not worried though because I'll build muscle when I'm bulkan
Pls no bully
fuarkkk were all gonna make it
left around 230, right at 220. Im at 216 as of this morning. was fit then i tore my acl playing basketball in college and just drank my life away.
Started as a fast bitch, now a less fat bitch and about 10 pounds from abs. Feels right.
I'm 6'0. I do have okay core muscles. Like I can feel it under the fat.
Lifting for about a week and a half now.
>>35616524 shit that is good if real. full auschitz on the left
>unironically using the term hard-gaining
>>35617455 nice gains bro, would chill with new anon, would not chill with old anon

>>35618368 im so sorry about your hips
>>35618388 nice cut, time to start building muscle
>>35618439 nice progress, keep it going and you'll get a lot better, you might need some skin reduction eventually
>>35618458 need some chest work anon
>>35618467 nice cut, your triceps seem a little overdeveloped for your overall muscle, work on those compound lifts ie the big three
>>35618560 nice cut, keep it up anon
>>35618574 nice work, passing that threshold of your stomach becoming smaller than your chest is a big milestone
>>35618746 nice bulk anon, might want to cut a little bit or lower your calories, totally worth the fat gains for how much muscle you put on though
>>35619117 please stop posting
>>35619256 not bad
Cutting til end of Feb then slow clean bulk
3 years, pretty meh mass gain for that amount of time but didn't really start getting smart about things and serious about fitness until 2 years in.
both pics are at the same weight 150lbs at 5'9.
Went from curvy skinnyfat to doormode abs
6'1 was 260lbs now 175
A couple months eating more with no lifting, then 1 year of lifting
Long way to go
Honestly, fortunate genetics + low bf%. I rarely do core isolations. When I do, I superset ab wheel and hanging leg raises. I keep telling myself I'll start working core, but I still haven't gotten around to it desu senpai.
Im natty lol. but thank you for the compliment.
This is how i did it.
That is true, I can't speak for other skellies but eating is literally the hardest part. It used to be if I ate too much I would feel sick and bloated, In my case my illness played a part in this. But you can train yourself to eat more. Much like lifting this is best done by incrementally increasing it. But yea, point taken.
Sub 220 now, tho I've been sick the past couple of days so I'm not sure if I'll stay that way.
Regardless, feels good man. Onderland approaches for literally the first time since I hit puberty. People treat me like a normal dude.
Never thought I'de see the fucking day.
Good job sticking with your diet for all that time, I know that shit can be hard and youve done more than 99% of fatties ever will, hope you can afford to get that excess skin removed eventually, youre making it. ps. get a tan
all these scrawny kids with barely any body fat think they're so badass now that they've got a little muscle. You're the same tiny weasels i'd see in adv weight lifting that can't lift shit but love to look at themselves in the mirror and post pics on FB of them being gay in their parent's bathroom. Just another paradoxical falsehood of life i guess.
joocy af, nice work
Great progress senpai, keep it up
Would let that faucet drip if you know what I'm sayin' ;]
Great job homie, you look tons better
Good progress, and massive facial gains holy shit
dat silhoette doe
Whoa! If this is legit that doesn't even look like the same person. Badass
Killin' it, keep up the fucking awesome progress
Grats on the face gains man, lookin' good
Damn, you really slimmed down. Keep up that willpower, you're making it!
Awesome progress. You have really good facial aesthetics.
Keep going man, you're still young and you've already come a long way.
You look great already imo, but I'm not the type to stop people from trying to reach their ideal. Keep at it until you're happy!
Massive improvement, nice work anon!
Whoa, you look so much better. Killer job.
It seems like you have good genetics. It's an awesome start, you're gonna make it for sure if you keep working.
Awesome transformation man, congrats
Honestly you looked pretty feminine in the first pic but now you look great. Good job
Wow, another top-tier transformation. Lookin' good anon!
Very nice! You've really bulked up
Holy shit man! You're killing it! Awesome work.
It's amazing that you've lost 100lbs, and you look so much better. Mad respect.
Wow, you look tons better. It's like night and day. Fucking awesome!
You're doing great, you've already made tons of visual progress. Lookin' good
Depends how young you are, you always have time on your side and I'm pretty sure there are things you can do.
Surgery is always an option but from what I understand its expensive and has a high risk of complications.
That said using "afraid of loose skin" as an excuse to not lose weight is bitch mode.
Some people will talk about loose skin as if it's the person's own fault for allowing themselves to get that size to begin with, but I just think it's sad that when someone does decide to make the lifestyle change that they are punished with such a shitty obstacle. That said, like the other anon said, don't let it stop you from continuing your weight loss journey. Work hard and start looking up different loose skin remedies besides surgery and you'll make it some day. Mirin' your current progress.
Just wait til my 210 pic man, I almost look halfway decent in clothes nowadays, if you ignore the spare tire around my midsection and only look at me from the chest up.
Just want to drop this last fucking 40-80lbs already so I can start banging sloots.
That'll be fun.
Ya i lost over 100lb, was at low enough bodyfat for a sixpack, but could only see it if i stretch my skin down.
>mfw i had zipper abs the whole time
Alright I did a little more hunting.
I think OP's pants are these, or last season's version of these in a color that's no longer offered.
Not sure if you're defending the pants or if you also think they look retarded.
Either way, to those who asked about them, I'd recommend getting a size bigger than what you'd normally get. My legs aren't huge yet, but the pants shrank a good deal from the wash and are pretty tight now.
Former anorexic here. This is my progress, didn't lift the whole time, top right was my starting point with weights.
I'm fat as fuck atm, can't wait to get back into the shape I was in the bottom pics again for Summer and stay shredded all the time
Never took a before pic which i regret
Left is me before I even though about lifting, right is me 5 minutes ago after lifting for 5 months.
A-am I gonna make it brahs?
Good progress man, I would do a little mini cut and get shredded then just lean bulk for as long as you can. I've bulked up to 15%+ too many times and it never seems worth it. Better just staying lean and keeping a small surplus
This is what it's all about right here, supporting each other through tough times by encouraging one another so that we can achieve the goals we set out to. You're fucking awesome dude, thanks for making everyone's (and my) day.
You make sure to have a beautiful day, you hear me, you deserve it
>have a beautiful day
less than 15 minutes left
One month a few months ago. Don't have a current pic.
Serious lifting with a plan for almost 7.5 months now.
Some fucking around without any plan nor progress for 2-3 months before that.
Yes. I stalled out after 2 months and did several deloads.
But I wasn't too worried about it since losing weight was more important to me.
Now that I'm bulking all lifts go up like crazy.
As a complete beginner you still will make at least some gains, even on a cut.
But don't expect a progression like on a SS bulk. You will be slower and should except more deloads. You will also have a hard time to recover from heavy squats 3 times per week on a cut, so I increased the weights only every other workout instead of every workout.
But you should decide whats more important to you. Losing fat or getting strong. For me looking good was more important and that means being lean so I decided to cut and accepted that my progression and strength and size building will be limited for that period of cutting time...
Again, i'm a true begginer, focusing on form right now rather then the weight itself, but I don't think it's useless.
In theory, if you eat enough protein you should be gaining at least a litlle bit of muscle, right?
Also, Alan talks about noobie gains here:
So i'd assume it's not pointless. Would be good to have someone more experienced give their thoughts on the matter.
Imho it also depends from where you start.
If you are fat: lift and cut.
If you are skelly: lift and eat.
If you are skinny fat: lift and slow cut until you start to stall then lift and eat
i.e. pic related
that's the thing im not sure about how much i should eat because apparantly rippetoe advises a lot of calories but i feel like that's a bad idea, at the same time i feel like cutting would seriously slow my progress? Idk
my goal is just to get stronger so i can use that strength to improve my body in the future
If you look like pic related don't bulk. You are 20+% bodyfat and will end up really fat if you do a SS bulk here.
Cut first to atleast 15% bodyfat before even thinking about slow bulking.
Personally I'd even do a longer cut to around 10-12% bodyfat and then bulk.
if want max fat loss do intermittent fasting and calorie counting. Try training while fasting and if you're tired break your fast before training. post email and i'll email you kinobody program
have my old spam email [email protected]
after googling intermittent fasting that's kinda what i already do, i usually eat at like 2pm and 10pm, although my weigh barely goes up or down (hasnt gone below 69kg or above 72kg in the last few months) so i guess i need to cut more calories
>chubizard not fat snorlax
ill take the compliment
do SS for a Month then switch over. If you want more strength gains add a whole body day (squats deadlifts and bench) so it goes like ABCxDx. Focus on your cut first and get into the habit of eating on a deficit. Also stop cutting when you get down to 15% body fat or else you wont progress. Start clean bulking once 15% body fat has been achieved. Enjoy Gains
I don't think you'll ever understand how motivating your progress is to me. I've been having my doubts, but seeing your progress has given me a new view on everything. Thank you, anon.
1 year and half more or less, starting from lanklet status, and my arms are still dyel
check'd and yes after the cut go SS. alternate between SS and kinobody for max aesthetics and strength. i do 7 weeks between both. Remeber everything works, but nothing works forever.
Strength gains will be better on a full body program you dipshit. Don't recommend things when you have no idea what you're talking about.
Stay on SS guy, move to an intermediate program like madcow when you start stalling.
Anne frankly, I did nazi that coming. I literally came here to say this but boy, that escalated quickly so to the top with you! Lost it at 'This is why we can't have nice things' and then my faith in humanity was restored, my mind blown, and manly tears were shed. Well said. As a 'murican, I can confirm this gem has just won the internet and is doing it right. Just sayin', I know that feel, bro, and while that was a risky click, this post was a 9/10, 11/10 with rice, would read again. I see what you did there and it feels good man. You're doing God's work, son. I laughed way harder than I should have at your list that seems legit and totally nailed it. You - I like you. You magnificent bastard; you, sir, are so brave, a gentleman and a scholar, and seeing how you are a redditor for 4 years, this checks out, so I'll allow it. I regret that I only have one upvote to give for this cool story, bro. CTRL+F "about tree fiddy" was not disappointed. Wait, why do I have you tagged as "NOPE NOPE NOPE"? Nice try, you monster. You are now banned from /r/pyongyang What did I just read? Dafuq? I read that as "YOU HAD ONE JOB". I can't fap to this. You must be new to reddit, so I'll see your cakeday and raise you a karma train. One does not simply rustle my jimmies, not even once. Jet fuel can't melt dank memes, that stahp gave me cancer for science, so that's enough internet for me today. OP is a fuzzy little man-peach, 2/10, would not bang. What is this I don't even know how is this wtf? Circlejerk must be leaking. This will get buried but brace yourselves, some men want to watch the world burn right in the feels. When you see it, they'll KILL IT WITH FIRE! But this has nothing to do with atheism. Lawyer up, delete facebook, hit the gym, and SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY, said no one ever, so you wouldn't download a strawman. /r/dadjokes. whoosh. Since rule #1 is 'be attractive', I'll just leave this here: This is my [f]irst post, be gentle.
Edit: This blew up. RIP my inbox.
vast improvemet on face and nipple blade technique, keep going bro
I started 3+ years ago, but it definitely hasn't been 3 years of consistent lifting due to injury, no gym, etc. I could have achieved that in 2 years if I knew then all that I know now desu.
Not really, if you're beyond the point of no return. There's consequences for trying to kill yourself the slowest way possible.
The good news is people that only had a little bit to lose tighten back up, most cases. I don't know any 150+ lbs lost peeps who shrank back properly, though.
Fuck yeah dude. No problem. you just made my day.
Biggest advice I can say is, while progress pictures like this are cool, I don't really have a "goal" I want to get to.
I just enjoy the ride. When I bulk, I focus on having fun and being strong. When I cut, I get into marathon training and do MMA. But I do always count macros, always.
Sorta where I am at now. Last pic is about 2 months old.
I went from about 179 to 195. Id like to cut down to about 183.
I'm natty, just pumped in some of those pics. But yeah I get what you're saying, I think it's very important to have a life outside of fitness, use fitness to enhance your life and not be consumed by it
This is from a few months ago.
Shoulder and back problems, hindering exercises a lot. Gotten through some back problems and hit 165kg on deads last month, going to work on shoulders/triceps which have been underworked so much due to shoulder problems (dislocated shoulder once, permanent damage)
not fucking bad but what will happen to that excess skin?
Idk if this is a good enough picture but it's the only one I have. As for before I don't have a picture but imagine a super skelly guy ribs poking out, negative pecs and arms skinnier than any auschwitz skelly. Around 1 year progress.
>Always scroll through these threads to try and find someone who made it with stretchmarks on their chest going onto their bicep
>No one ever does
>It's just me, a still DYEL fuck with fucking purple disgusting stretchmarks stopping me ever removing my shirt in public
Dogbro getting pretty cut too, now that gf's folls have stopped sneaking him shit and I take him jogging.
114 lbs -> 153 lbs.
Would have to upload leg pics, but I don't have at the moment.
I'm still not as big as I want to be or as lean.
I created this for more accuracy. 1 year progress
hey dude how did u fill out ur chest. mines similar to some of ur earlier pics but i want a big full chest like the last one. been liftin a year. bench kinda stalled at 205 for 8 right now, and i do alot of accessories along with benching flat and incline
Fixed my diet about 8 months ago, and started lifting 1 month ago.
Need to cut really badly, will be doing that next month.
Just under a year, starting to look pretty skelly, so bulkan' time!
About 5 months difference right here. I think I look a little thicker...
I realize it's dyel as fuck but pic answers your question to be honest: original weight was 272 went down to 158. Then slowly increased.
