Calves. Hear me out. The soleous is used to correct flexion in hip rotation which creates a huge torque on the dominant low insertion calves. This helps stabalize every lift and create a metamuscle, essentially. It makes the muscle operate and use a true motion instead of a small RoM. Essentially calves will shift all the force from the floor into your hams which will transfer into your spine creating a massive CNS boost.

Every day I fall back into tightness, actually after like an hour after stretching I'm tight again. It's fucking up my squat training. Tight quads pull down on the pelvis and disable my lower abs. They simply don't get nervous activity and they are horribly weak and behind compared to the rest of the body. My gut spills out and I have donald duck posture.

I bought insoles, but they were shitty. So I looked at google for better insoles, got an idea of what I needed, called for an orthopedian time in my town, explained what I wanted and he understood me. Next week I'll go there and get next level false feet insoles. I'm gonna lift up my ''big toe'' along with the arch. This is a physical problem. It has physical solutions. We must be able to fix it.

I hope the insoles will make me more stable and allow the adductors to relax a bit, making it easier to stretch me fully open. Possibly make me get into a good squat position with possibilities for good movement mechanics.

This. Powerlifting generally, but untested feds specially aren't big enough to be saturated with talent. The smaller the talent pool is, the worse the top(generally). Drugs/no weigh-ins and different equipment play a huge role in why lolfeds have bigger numbers then the larger IPF.

Day 92 blog: my last post doesn't count because it was only about my first session.

Felt like shit today during squats between classes, still worked up to 475, which admittedly felt way better than my warmups, but not enough so to keep going up. Got some crazy quad soreness and some random pains in my knee and shoulder.

Went to class, went home, jerked off, and took a nap. Went back to the gym feeling much better.

Worked up in front squats and attempted a max of 370. Felt easy and smooth going down but I tipped too far forward and lost it out of the hole. How the fuck do you guys not revert to backsquat form under heavy front squats? My upper back and quads should be able to handle that weight.

Doing SS basically with weighted dips, on my 4th session, gonna ride the linear gains out and then come back to benching. Hit 3x5 with 20lbs way too easy for my fat weight. Then did 1xf with 1pl8 to see where I was and got 5.

Hit some incline DB bench, skull crushers, side raises, and face pulls.

Heard it's a decent gym.

Eagle in Overland, and Max Effort in Maplewood are more "serious" PL oriented gyms. Eagle is basic, grungy, and "iron lyfe", where Max Effort is a bit more "USAPL" oriented (but it is invite only).

Either way, there are some good options near you :) Max Effort has an 850 lb puller, Eagle has some impressive specimens as well.

Eagle is only $5 for a daily visit. Rick is the owner. They have a monolift, decent benches, some good DL bars, and a boxing ring if you're feeling spicy.

Max Effort you'll have to call to arrange an interview/visit. I would LOVE to train there, but it's too far of a drive, and I don't have the time :(

Just my own anecdote, but my feet are 2E width (wide).

I have decent (and legitimate) track times from 400m through 10000m.

In my experience working with athletes who run and lift, narrow feet are seldom an asset.

Nah.

After focusing on strength, speed development, and plyos, I was able to achieve very respectable short sprint times as well (post mid/long distance tenure).

I also learned to pole vault, long jump, triple jump, and high jump to a small degree of proficiency.

What events did you compete in (in track)?
