I don't understand how body builders look bigger than strongmen, yet are weaker.
How dumb are you? The best strongmen have a lot more muscle, in the neighborhood of 10-20 more pounds of pure muscle, than JM, in addition to a lot more fat.
They also focus on training compound movement specific to their sport, rather than doing pump routines like JM probably does. Strongmen with a high bodyfat percentage have more accessible energy resources than someone who is extremely lean.
Although muscle size and strength are correlated, it is not a perfect 1:1 correlation.
That's why hypertrophy training for bodybuilding aka 8-12 reps and powerlifting (low reps) are different. Strongmen are a similar case.
Performance =/= Size
Although obviously if you get stronger you'll most likely get bigger.
I'm glad you found it useful.
That's insane, the weight is good for 1 rep, let alone a pause that feels like it lasts for infinity.
I don't front squat. I've never learnt the proper technique and unlike back squat, you can't really teach yourself via YouTube videos. I've always wanted to take a couple lessons in Olympic lifting and learn. Legit front squatting 135 is hard for me. I have like 0 balance and fall over.
It requires core strength and flexibility. The power should come from the hips, but that's also where most muscle tightness is.
Per center of gravity, the counter balance should be the ass, probably.
Some are, some aren't. Most strongmen could cut some weight and look ripped in a few months. No bodybuilder could do anything Strongmen can do, unless they dedicate many years to their training regime.
